Sorry, but this wholes"excuses" angle carries a strong crimson stench. No one is looking for an excuse, but if Saban cheated in the BCS NC you want to know.
The result will never change.
Bama will still claim that championship, even if cheating is proven.
Hell, Bama claimed all of Lance Armstrong's Tour de France titles the moment he forfeited.

Saban didn't need to spy or get insider info on our offensive gameplan, he didn't need to consult williams at all, all he had to do was stay at home and watch first half of seccg and georgia gave him a defensive gameplan!

Saban needed no help.

The moment the crowd booed when JJ was inserted into the KY game, most everyone there suspected where LSUs offensive gameplan was headed.

It would also explain why they didn't play lee. All of the reps for the gameplan went to JJ and they had to scrap everything they had worked on and wing it. So the only offense that lee was prepared for was base running and base passing game. Miles knew Bama would eat lsu's base offense with lee at QB so he just let JJ ride it out and hope that his mobility could make a play for lsu

also, Les may have wanted to protect Lee from having a miserable outing and ruining his chances in the NFL... now look who has had the opportunity

Lee Feinswog said on the Matt Mascona show this week he covered Alabama for the NC game and was told by Kirby Smart that LSU's plays were nothing they had seen any time they played Alabama or any of the films they had of them. He said they had to adjustments all throughout the game and his players were able to make the adjustment throughtout the game.

they didn't do anything I hadn't seen... isn't that what every LSU fan has complained about? Why would he say that except to cover his tracks?

Well, look at it this way. If its true he employed the same tactics when we beat Oklahoma in NC game, do we have a right to complain? Lets not be hypocrites. frick the Gumps and frick Saban either way

it makes sense to me.

can't change it now, but I believe there is a lot of truth to it.

Maybe it was "leaked" to Miles, with enough proof, that the game plan was compromised, knowing they would have to fall back on the last game plan that was successful before, then prepared for it based on the past game film. It couldn't be so simple as they watched practice film... had to be deeper than that. But I don't doubt there is some truth in there. Williams is in it for Williams, so he figures to have a job of some kind, with Nick's help, down the road. He's building powerful liaisons.

Well why didn't our guys ask Peyton to give an outline for a gameplan to attack their defense.
He could have got somebody to work up something.

Actually, I would like to know if Saban also cheated FOR LSU against OU.
I would sure look differently at that championship.
Hopefully LSU fans would want to treat that bad news, if it turned out to be true, with some integrity.
No doubt, some of our fans wouldn't care.
They " just got too much Bama in 'em", I guess...

I remember OU fans claiming that Saban saw or videotaped or had access to at least their walk through.

While I think Alabama was just the better team that night and they elephant-trunk-whipped LSU all the way back to Baton Rouge that night, if the "legs" of these accusations are true, then it answers a whole heck of a lot of questions. The ad nauseam of the players' bewilderment of not running the plays that were practiced before hand, Les not having an explanation of what transpired offensively, Kirby Smart's comments that were stated earlier in this thread; it all makes sense if the fire to this smoke is true.

However, no one in this thread has talked about the arguing and bickering the offensive staff had before the game. These potential "legs" may have been the reason for that.

However, with all of that mere conjecture being said, Alabama got in the game, showed they deserved to be in the game, and won the game that is set up to prove who the best team was, and they won.

What is KNOWN about bickering among the LSU offensive staff?
All I ever heard were unsubstantiated rumors...
Asking...

I think the accusation was about an assistant's laptop being stolen

Well the SEC schedule, already put together to determine the best team in the conference, had already shown that Bama was not the best team in the country. All the NCG did was create a debate that can never be settled.

The NCG is over and LSU can drive home their recent dominance of the SEC with a win tomorrow.

With a win LSU will have a 32-4 record over the these past three seasons. In that time frame they would also be 3-1 against the consensus next best program in the conference.

I guess you're right. I forgot they were rumors. It's still an interesting tidbit to the whole situation though.

Moral of the story to this whole thread:
