It's almost as if Saban has earned the right for people to not question his hires and his judgment.

Can’t hurt our Cali connection

Guess we're continuing with the "gotta have someone over 80 on the staff" mentality.
He’s a consultant. You should really relax.

You guys will complain about anything. It used to be that we didn't staff up like Bama. Now you bitch about this. If you don't have mentors or sounding boards in your professional life, give it a try. It's a thing.
You can tell who really hates O more than they love LSU when they bitch about stuff like this.
What could it possibly hurt having this guy around the program?

Is that the new standard? Not "This is totally going to help them get better!", but "this won't hurt".

How many consultants does Alabama have?

Do we have an AARP quota to fulfill or something?

I really hope you are under 18, because no adult should have this much time to troll a message board

You nailed it. I have a friend that hates Orgeron so badly that he pulls against LSU. He graduated from LSU. Now he says he pulls for Bama until O is gone. Completely retarded. There are a lot of O haters like this.

Almost certainly won't hurt anything. I personally was just curious as to what insights into today's college football landscape he could provide. Also curious as to what he will be paid. Otherwise, I have no issue with it at all. Mentors are good. Most people don't hire and pay their mentors but an entity like LSU football which brings in $50+ million in profits per year can probably afford to do that.

This is a lie

Maybe he can tell the kids all about the depression and where he was the day Hiroshima was bombed.
Ed apparently hasn't learned that old coots don't like change and are not brimming with knowledge relevant to today's game. I said the same about Jerry Sullivan when he was hired as a consultant. But the rant was mesmerized by the new shiny toy that obviously was the best in the whole wide world. That worked out well and so will this.

Your "friend" sounds like a turbo douche. Get new friends.

Lol no there aren't.

I mean given that he’s a consultant to O specifically, he’s probably here for California recruiting purposes and to lend head coaching or motivational advice. Maybe organizational? Idk
Not unlike the advice Will Wade gets from his mental guru that he has on retainer.

True, his last coaching job was as defensive coordinator for San Marcos high school in 2010, so he could have some solid insight.

He just obsessively hates the head coach.
He started a thread once to unite the "nega Os" in order to prevent Orgeron from being "normalized". His exact word

Who's even said anything bad about the head coach in here? You guys are obsessed with defending the honor of another grown man.
