re: Lee vs. Stafford: The Comparison

Agree Deuce,
Whoever thinks Stafford is not good QB must be blind or not too smart or both. In our game, at times, our DB's were there but the ball came in so fast and even when they had their hands in there to make a play the WR's for Georgia were flat out sick. They had stick em or glue on their hands. Also, we were about to sack him a few times and he released the ball quickly at the last second to throw a bullet for a first down or hell, for touchdowns.

lol @ people using NFL scouts' opinions as if they mean anything. Those guys are wrong on an alarmingly regular basis.
Stafford is, by far, the most overrated QB to come along in recent memory. His decision making absolutely blows and despite his "amazing" arm, he throws a ton of ducks.
The ONLY thing he has going for him is his arm. If he had even merely an above average arm, he'd be an undrafted free agent because he isn't good at any other aspect of quarterbacking.
NFL scouts loved Jeff George, Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith and Heath Shuler, too. Those guys turned out great.
thank you

If Lee can develop then this season will work to his favor and of course LSU's as well.

unny thing is: stafford really isn't that good either...
Wow if you don't think stafford is a good qb then you are blind. I think he is in the top 5 in the league. The only reason he doesn't put up the same numbers as some others is cause he doesn't play in the no-defense big 12.

he has BUST written all over him.

I guess we will see. He will probably be better than JR, however.

Those interceptions, 14 of which have been thrown by redshirt freshman Jarrett Lee, have led to 42 points and set teams up for two more touchdowns and a field goal, almost 60 points in all. That figure represents more than a quarter of the 218 points the Tigers have surrendered this season, a total that ranks them 10th in the SEC in scoring defense and behind five teams that have played one more game than LSU.

You must be a miserable person. You probably think that everyone is overrated. Probably didn't think JR was any good until he was drafted #1. There were fans that I knew that never thought JR was any good. You will probably now tell me he was a BUST. And that my friend would destroy any and all of your credibility in this arguement.
The point is, Stafford is a good SEC QB! Get over it. He IS the best QB in the SEC, you cannot argue that. It is a fact; that has been stated by anyone that knows anything about football. You can try to destroy the so-called experts opinion, but in the end they know more about football then you will ever know.
My advice is to watch Stafford objectively. Watch his leadership, footwork, pocket-presence, arm-strenght & accuracy. All-around he is pretty impressive.

Russell is pretty much a taller version of Stafford. He had the same exact problems Stafford did in college. That he's struggling in the NFL is of no surprise to me. Yet another QB overrated because of his arm strength.

if stafford gets on a team in the NFL with a great O-line, i think he'll do better than Jmarc has done for sure.
jamarcus russell was thrown to the wolves by going to the raiders

Very true. Worst place to be in the NFL.

JR has waaay more natural talent than stafford has.
oh, and i;m not miserable, just call it like I see em.

pretty much.
the games I watched with JR in, his receivers were dropping balls left and right.
the guy has a cannon though, AND can run.

JR has no OL nor WR.
andrew walters came in last week and couldnt last the entire game b/c he got roughed up so badly.

if you put JR on a team with a decent O-line, and a quality receiver or two, he could do great things.

You probably think Brett Favre is overrated due to his arm strength. Maybe Jay Cutler is also. Arm strenght has a lot to do with being a good QB. If you don't have it you can't make the throws on the field. That shows how much you think you know about football.
It's the same as speed. Most scouts and recruiters love speed and arm strength because you can't teach it. I can teach Lee how to read a defense, but I can't make Tebow throw the ball with any more velocity.

Remember when JR was at LSU the detractors always said the receivers made him look better than what he really is. Can the same be said for stafford.

Maybe I was out-of-line saying you were a miserable person. You are entitled to believe that Lee is terrible and will never be a quality SEC QB since he had comparable stats to one of the best current SEC QBs by stating that you don't think Stafford is that good.
The comparison is right in front of your face. Yes UGA has lost some big games this year when they should have run the table. I don't pin that entirely on Stafford.
My only objective was to draw comparisons with a pretty good SEC QB, Stafford and Jarret Lee.
