Russell Shepard better be glad he didn't try to go in the draft this year.

He tweeted earlier that he was very glad he didn't. Said he didn't realize how humbling the draft is.

Nevertheless, the piss poor gameplan of Jan 9th should be left where it is now....In the past

let it go.

And you forgot the one JJ had in the SECCG. Lee deserved a chance in the last game, period.

I was thinking the same thing while four wide receivers went ahead of RR2 in the 2nd round. Shep would have been a UDFA and should be very happy that he didn't come out earlier

He even twitted a small comment about it.

No doubt we don't beat Bama Nov 5 without JJ. Also no doubt that JL should have been given a chance when JJ struggled in the MNC.

You forget the SECCG, which was another JJ/Miles shite the bed performance.

And the deer in the headlights look JJ had in both games should be etched in your mind too.

But it doesn't fit your narrative.

and no doubt that we all need to let the entire situation go and store it in the past.

We sound like a bunch of bama fans coming up with issues the day after November 5th or November 26th, 2010.

Or we could have gone with Mettenberger in either of those situations.

Interesting that Miles unwittingly created the legend of J. Lee. Hope he and JJ can catch on somewhere and at least draw a paycheck, no matter how briefly at the next level. Somewhere.

Not taking away from JJ's poor performance in the SECCG. [That good awful pass to RR2 comes to mind]. But,in the first half the offensive line was terrible at blocking and UGA's dline came out more aggressive. Also, our field position was awful too.

My underlying thought about last season is that our offense played better when both QB's were coming in and out of the game [Auburn game was perfect]. Both QB's had positive skill sets that left defenses wondering what was coming next at them.

When Miles went straight to JJ after November 5th, he threw away a key secret and trump card that very well could have won us the game on Jan 9th

oh well, it is what it is.

I don't like this. Why didn't we try max protect w/ jl against bama. why was tbob center when jl was in but longeran came in when jj came in. we didn't do anything to try to give lee more time. miles had an agenda to play jj. Even if jl woulda transferred and mett beat everyone by 42 pts (as an earlier poster alluded to), miles still woulda had jj starting by the end of the season.

Only Lee deserves that opportunity.

I really don't understand why you are trying to push the Mettenberger idea into this conversation. If he didn't take any meaningful snaps all season. What makes you think that he would come in for the BCS national championship game.

It's just an extremely far fetched idea.

Are you really coming up with excuses for a game that we won?

You know what I heard about Jan 9.......

Mett had a cut throwing hand and couldn't play and Lee was supposed to graduate in Dec and when he didn't it took a scholly away from a player(Gunner Kiel) and Miles was NEVER gonna play Lee again because of that.

Only what I heard from TAF tools, but, that is the excuse I heard.

Even if true, it makes Miles look like a bigger idiot.

Because the fabrication was put forth that without JJ LSU doesn't win the first Alabama game. You gonna pretend he wasn't on the roster?

Lee has a great book about his career and/or ESPN has an interesting story about the season and/or championship games at least.

It is the weirdest QB controversy I've ever seen.
