Wait, why would reading a Matt Mauck thread make you think about LEAST productive QBs? Sure, he was a game manager, but he is also tied for the single season TD pass record. He was pretty damn productive.

Jamey Howard! Not even close.

Melvin Hill. Curley Hallmans answer to Peyton Manning signing with Tennessee that year.

Wow I am surprised no mention of Booty in this thread. I mean he did throw over 30 INT's in 2 years.
I mean 19 INT in 99 and 15 INT in 2000, along with 7 Touchdowns in 99 and 17 touchdowns 2000.

yep
How 'bout Timmy Byrd, the guy that transferred to USM. Pretty sad. Had high hopes back in the day though.

Bingo.
His one start, 2002 vs. Ole Miss:
2-6 for 9 yards and 1 INT.
We still came back to win when Randall saved the day.

Bobby Moreau (moved to linebacker his senior year)

i think Jamie Howard catches too much crap from the fans. I admire the guy after the Auburn game, after the boos, after the death threats, the guy still came back the next year (when he could've quit and concentrated on baseball) because he loved LSU and actually had a decent year.
I have to say the least productive of recent years was Marcus Randall. He was not an SEC caliber QB. The most dissapointing was Josh Booty. The most frustrating was Ryan Perrilloux, however, without RP, we don't win an SEC Championship or a National Title in '07.

Hope you don't mind a clarification.
The game that stands out is the infamous Auburn loss. Auburn had no first half first downs, if my memory is correct. There was no way that they could have scored 3+ tds on their own. The play calling set up a bizarre series of events that may never happen again, anywhere. Those who truly remember that game, can relate to last year in which the ball was not just intercepted, but returned for tds with apparent ease or spectacular
plays. It didn't matter how, they were destined to go back. For the Auburn game, I was screaming at my tv, because I could feel it coming.
