I will say again I was not there, I have no inside info nor I am an eye witness, but the more that comes out about this the worse it looks for WVU no matter how hard the WVU posters wish otherwise.

The latest report from the Daily Mail states the vehicle in which the victims were driving was in "bumper to bumper" traffic.

As I asked last evening, as they were being beaten where was the campus police, where were the Morgantown police, the state police, rent a cop campus security, why did no one in bumper to bumper traffic come to their aid?

Spin this all you want but WVU for lack of providing adequate security and anyone who sat by and watched and did nothing is culpable.

This attack apparently happened on 705 which is not on campus nor does it run through campus. It runs past part of the campus, this is out of WVU's jurisdiction as far as campus police go.

There is no excuse for this and I would love for WVU/Morgantown/and WV to figure out a way to stop this type of action. But I do not know if that is possible. There unfortunately stupid people everywhere. I hope that the town, county, and city provide more police to these type of events in the future.

There were also reports of WVU fans helping these people out. I have no idea how quickly they helped. I worked at a bar during my undergrad years and I do know that it doesn't take long for 3 guys to jump 1 guy and do serious damage like these guys did which is they bounced the guys head off of the pavement.

I am glad that they received some help and apparently some of the witnesses provided help with statements to the police.

I don't think the police chief was trying to spin anything, I think he was just saying that at this point nobody can be ruled out. I would think that these people will be tracked down by some combination of license place info plus vehicle description.

If these people are WVU "fans" then I would be the first one in line to give these guys what they deserve. I hope they spend an extended stay in jail and I hope they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Is he trying to insinuate that random LSU fans in bum frick WV MIGHT have been responsible, as if he couldn't rule that out? Wowza!

Stay in your shitty arse conference that is falling apart because we don't need your white trash fanbase in our conference
Like there are not legions of white trash in the fan bases of the SEC schools. (Maybe except Vanderbilt)

Hillbilly's vs Rednecks. West Virginia vs Alabama. Doesn't matter. Trash is trash. All cut from the same block of granite, but just slightly different culturally between the Northern and Southern species.

Second, it wasn't random.

man, you can't blame west virginia for this. it was a group of young male thugs. fits the profile for this sort of thing. they probably never spent an hour is a college classroom and wv is their "pro" team. they were drunk and spoiling for a fight and pulled a guy out of a car and beat the hell out of him. they were probably going home to beat the wife and kids anyway. this happens EVERYWHERE, including baton rouge. if you don't believe me, ask you local women's shelter or local united way. they budget extra money and set aside facilities with extra on call medical staff EVERY HOME FOOTBALL GAME. why, because "beaters" cannot handle alcohol and their team losing. the best thing for any of us to do is to be non-confrontational and when in the car keep your windows up and your doors locked. these type of people are predators, plain and simple. i have been attacked twice in my life; one after a high school game of all things. the attack was random, violent and the big brave perpatrator disappeared in the crowd while i lay on the pavement bleeding. i did nothing to cause it and didn't even see it coming. alcohol, anger problems and a violent personality are the causes. i feel sorry for west virginia; they are doing everything they can to calm their fans down and most of them are responding well.

She and two friends, who were also in the car, sustained minor injuries from the attacks. Monongalia General doctors found Hannah's unborn child was not hurt.

Police on Tuesday identified the other passengers as Nathan Glen Ray, 32, of Houston, Texas, and Douglas Lewis, 34, also of Canonsburg.

What the hell were these two guys doing while Mason was being drug from the vehicle and beaten???

I think it's smart PR to say it wasn't rivalry related and just a random act of violence. It's bullshite, but it works psychologically, especially if a female saw the incident.

4 guys beat one guy...what were the other two grown men doing in the back seat??? 3 on 4 you might not win but one guy wont get beat in to the degree he was. Were they even helping? How'd they get the guy out of his seatbelt?

I'm not pointing the blame at WVU but that article sounded about as biased as it gets.

I do think it was a case of the wrong place at the wrong time, but every other line sounded like an excuse.

Have they caught these hoodlums yet?
