LAST WORD ON Francoisgate - and why I like Fowler

Much has been said about this - but knocking the Heisman winning QB out of the game with legal vicious hitting, should be the objective of EVERY DAMN SINGLE TEAM THAT PLAYS FLORIDA.
That "Flutie fruity flakes", has softened his approach to the contact sport known as American College Football, only sullies his own reputation.
I prefer Chris Fowler's interpretation excerpted below.
"That's also the sentiment Tim Tebow expressed about LSU's visit Saturday night. He told me he has been truly fired up by comments from Florida native and LSU defensive tackle Ricky Jean-Francois this week about trying to knock him out of the game.
It's not false bravado by Mr. Heisman. This really does get Tim going. He also said his O-line is inspired. They had better be, because they are not a great matchup against ole Ricky's neighbors on the Bayou Bengals' front. It's a freaky, nasty, emotional, tight, deep group, and they are a ton of fun to focus in on during a game, as I did when they visited an Auburn bunch that had chop-blocked their former teammate, Glenn Dorsey, a year earlier.
Jean-Francois, Tyson Jackson, Kirston Pittman, et all were stalking the field in warm-ups, getting each other ready to go. They will be a force to handle for the Gators' line, which had its hands full with Ole Miss. Florida's green or gimpy guards are not likely to shove aside the Tigers' inside guys".

Bravo to Fowler, he seems to 'get it'.
This is football, and the finest version of college football known as Southeastern Conference.

he also pointed out some lack of production by the Dline. his last word had 2 meanings, typical.

Fowler was spot on...unfortunately, he was spot on about everything, including the secondary.
However, I think we can shut them down, and I think the lack of turnovers forced and sacks made, by comparison to the pass attempts, is inflated because they've played three passing spread offenses in four games this season. Hell, North Texas inflated them big time, they threw something like 40 passes and a good 70+% of them were just dump offs to the flat routes, 5-yard curls, or slants. You can't sack a quarterback when he throws the ball inside of three seconds like they did -- and that's why LSU didn't. They got to Armanti Edwards -- hey, where did the App St. fans go, BTW? -- a few times, and got Chris Dodd and Tyson Lee a couple of times as well, but honestly, the teams they've played so far as a whole have abused the hell out of the short passes, and that's preventing the team from making defensive plays in the passing game.

Yes he did highlight shortcomings as well - I just wanted to point out that at least in his mind, this was not going to be Ole Miss.

In 4 games, against 3 spread offenses who utilize quick passing schemes.
That "nasty" defense is also ranked 8th in the nation in rush defense if I'm not mistaken.

Florida led the SEC in rushing defense last year but our defense was still shite. Maybe teams arent running on LSU because they can throw?!?!
And the excuse about facing a spread option team is laughable. What do you think Florida runs?

he said spread offense, not spread option

Teams that get the ball out of the hands of QB's quickly don't give up sacks. It's not that complicated. Pressure, pass breakups, and rushing defense are all keys to stopping a spread offense and a spread option, not sacks.
People key too much on sacks and not enough on scoring defense.

There is no doubt that defensive players dream of such big hits. I'm sure the Auburn player that laid out Hatch is still talking about it. It's part of the game.
But how often do you hear these defensive players saying it to the media? Not many. And after the firestorm this week, hopefully RJF (and every LSU player) now understands why you don't say such things to the media. Do your talking on the field.
That's my last word...

Tebow or Harvin. And that's about it.

I like how Flutie call BS on this one. RJF said exactly what the hell he meant to say. He wanted to "take him out". Not out of his gameplan. ok, emotions sometimes speak but dont think for a minute that UF's lineman are taking it as "nothing". May very well cost u the game. It wont help when the game starts but it sure as hell makes Florida's preperation more intense. Stupid comments that should never be made. I'd have more respect for RJF is he just said yea, I meant what I said. Now he sounds like he's reading something with your PR guy looking over his shoulder. I loved Miles less than respectful response last night too. Les reminds me of LSU fans-no class. You might not like Tebow or UF but Tebow is a class act all the way. ONce upon a time coaches would b---h slap somebody for making these comments. I guess that was back in the day though.

Since I’m sure you make this ignorant statement based on your experience with only a few of LSU’s many supporters, let me do the same…

Its very amusing to see you lecture about making stupid statements, then follow it up with a stupid statement.
You would think you would troll your own boards but the great 17 - 14 conquerers of mighty Kentucky, have nothing better to do.
