The fact you needed last night to know Chavis was a great DC is astounding!

The defense has had no help in the 4th in 4 years.

Third and Chavis posters talking about prevent(we were never in prevent). Made it easy to spot the non football people.

Now it is ups dive and short side that helps ID em

As an original PosiTiger let me say I agree with the general tenor of the OP. But in keeping with my sunny disposition and general optimism, let me also say that Les was clearly trying to PROTECT Harris in his first real game as leader of the offense in a really hostile environment. It is possible that as the season progresses Harris gains the confidence of Miles and games like this end with us having possession.

By the way, that was a great win.

I'm making the exact point I want to. Chavis and Miles were idiots for either not having Beckwith ready to play for a year and a half or simply not playing him because a small white guy was a senior.
Beckwith played much better last night then he did last year. And the d-line is twice as good. Also our secondary is twice as good.

BTW, didn't Beckwith play a lot of outside linebacker last night?

It was our first game of the season!

There was some debate whether canceling McNeese was a detriment or benefit? News flash: that was all spin. It was a detriment, especially for a team which is still young overall and in addition starting so many true freshman. One of the penalties was Key lining up blatantly over the line. How much of last night was rookie/1st game mistakes?

Looking back, I still don't understand the whole JJ/JL debacle and probably never will. Last year I couldn't understand why they were sitting BH when AJ was performing so poorly, just like the JL/JJ head scratcher. Those two issues left many of us mistrusting him, losing the benefit of doubt. Afterward, it turns out that BH really didn't have a good enough grasp early on, but after the MSU game, CLM/Cam had no choice but to give him a try. After that, they didn't play him much because of the lingering injury.

Bottom line is that MIles has done a good job on everything else, and even last year's quarterback controversy makes more sense in hindsight. The fact that BH is starting this year is enough proof for me that most of my doubts were probably unfounded. They've opened up the offense in the past with Mett 2.0. What makes you think that they won't do that again? Plus, he's our winningest football coach and has presided over the majority of the current golden era of LSU football.

We survived this week. Let's give these coaches a chance to make adjustments and improve this young team. If we're still struggling like this for game 7, then then doubts would be legit, but I don't think that will happen.

You're the pussy as what he said is the truth. You think we should have won by dodging a last second field goal? If so you are illiterate. LM refusal to be 50/50 or even 60/40 on offense run/pass ratio is the problem. Fournette could have had 200 yards and Harris at least 150-200 yards passing and we win 38-13 because our defense remains fresher and takes care of business. We lose if the kicker makes that FG... Unbelievable

Pass on 1st or 2nd down !!!!
