Didn’t they get a 5th down on the goal line in order to win a game?
Blows my mind to this day

Mizzou recently started claiming 1960.

They were the champs according to Berryman QPRS, Billingsley Report, Dunkel System, and Sagarin Ratings
Does not compute

That 2020 Alabama championship should have a big * next to it. We all know Alabama's last legit championship was in 2017.

A good friend of mine was so angry that BYU was named National Champion that he took the sports page announcing that win, neatly folded it up, placed it in a paper grocery bag, and proceeded to take a dump on it.
Not his proudest moment, but it did show his commitment to just how much of an outrageous outcome that was. I mean, really...BYU's national championship game was a 6-5 Michigan?

Oklahoma and Switzer lobbied for the title but lost to Washington in the Orange Bowl. UW probably should have gotten the nod (they were the best team), but the AP and Coaches polls gave it to BYU.
