If we are just picking stats that make a player look good

Burrow is a very serviceable QB and does many good things but I don't understand this constant knight kneeling for trashing Haskins and promoting Burrow

ESPN and MSM sports writers say Haskins is a far better QB.

Urban Meyer and many who have watched these guys since high school, say they are about equal.

Take your pick. You're entitled to your opinion. And we are entitled to ours.

Ever heard of coaches talk?

No one is saying Burrow is a bad QB, he throws the ball very well given the time

Urban rolled with Haskins because he is versatile with his running and can throw the ball pretty well as well.

At this point why does it matter? Burrow is at LSU, starting at a major SEC program.

Facts destroyed your argument, so now you're going to what people say.

Urban is not in the business of shitting on the QBs he's coached, even if they transfer. And that's true for all coaches. So, maybe, just maybe, others who aren't attached to those players are looking at it more objectively than their former coaches.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but stats are facts. And the stats I listed destroyed your argument. So now, it's about opinions.

Keep crawfishing from your OP.

Urban didn't "roll with Haskins". Urban couldn't decide in the Spring. So Burrow rolled on down to Baton Rouge. And in all previous competitions, Burrow was ahead of Haskins on all official depth charts until Burrow broke his hand.

You wanna drink the ESPN & local sports hack's koolaid, have at it!!

I like Burrow and all, but the OP is delusional. Haskins is far ahead of Burrow - but to be honest, Haskins is ahead of nearly every other QB in the country.

A coach is suppose to decide who the starting QB is in the spring? Da fuq?

If two kids are good, let them continue to compete. This is asinine

You obviously lead a rich fantasy life. Happy for ya.

And total defense stats are more on point than passing defense stats. Good. To. Know. Too damn funny!!

If he sits down with Burrow's entire family and tells them he's going to choose the QB at the end of Spring practice, then hell yeah. [that's exactly what Meyer promised the Burrow's, BTW]

I've mentioned this same thing in a few threads the past several months and never get any response. Lots of downvotes though.

Yea I don't know many or really any programs that decide on their QB in the spring usually. Unless one kid is dramatically ahead of the next kid. Spring is about development and reps. Its the time to get better and to make changes.

Usually depth chart type stuff comes down to how kids look during fall camp, thats where you really get a better idea.

Kids work hard and get better during the summer too. A lot can change in a short time for these athletes.

exactly - just shows how this board is hypocritical.

Posters blasted McMillan and Narcisse for transferring, yet welcomed Burrow with open arms, even though he did the same thing.

By the way, I think there's NOTHING wrong with a guy transferring to try to get playing time.

Unless the Head Coach promises to do so. This is exactly what happened. Once that promise was broken, Burrow moved on.

And if you want to go a little deeper down this rabbit hole, some very good sources say Meyer wanted to run Burrow in more of a read/option. But Ryan Day (who had been offered the Titans OC job and an SEC HC job) wanted to run a pro-style offense. Meyer had promised Day autonomy as OC if he stayed another season.

Meyer thought he could convince Day to go with Burrow, but Day insisted on Haskins and the pro-style O. All Day's plans went to shite when Purdue beat OSU. Now Haskins is running more of a r/o and Martell has been coming in for Red Zone read/option plays.

Color DAY gone at the end of this season.
