As great as Khayla Pointer was in college, she is a bit undersized for the WNBA and no doubt Faustine’s game wasn’t near polished enough.

I don’t know if either will catch on anywhere else but they were great LSU Tigers. Wish them well in their futures whether on or off the court.

Yeah, I had seen her post on Twitter about it the other day and was surprised.

I know nothing about the WNBA; but just kind of assumed that it was a league that if you’re drafted then you’re making the team. Clearly I was wrong.

Hate it for both of them as they were some great Tigers. Thought for sure that Pointer would be a pro.

I was just reading where the WNBA raised individual salaries but still has a hard cap. There are 144 available spots (12 players on 12 teams) but actual spots are 130 or so.

Some teams are choosing to go with 11 or even 10 players to stay under the cap. There have been tweets from players complaining about the hard cap which means even high draft choices get cut.

I doubt Faustine would have made the league regardless, but if not for this WNBA hard salary cap, Khayla Pointer may have made a WNBA roster.

I thought this was a minor league baseball team.

Khayla wasn’t waived because she’s undersized. There are a number of guards shorter than her in the league. She was waived because of the aforementioned problem with the salary cap. This happens every year in the WNBA. She’ll eventually land with a team that needs guard help.

A great lesson in why minimum wage laws are for retards.

If not in the WNBA, they both will land overseas and earn a good living playing basketball if they choose too.
