I know Lamont very well, he has traveled all over the world playing basketball...Until his recent injury of his "good" knee. He tore his other ACL and he will be having surgery tomorrow....I would hope that his fans will keep him in their prayers and for all of the people that have posted negative comments about him we will keep you all in our prayers.

Another Brady choke job was the Sweet 16 loss to Wisconsin that year. Totally outcoached when he had superior athletes.

I'm glad Brady is gone, but he gets too much criticism above any credit he gets. Sure, that Wisconsin game was frustrating as it could be.But,good grief, the NCAA is littered each year with outstanding teams and coaches being upset in the regional semifinals. Look how many eggs Roy Williams laid before he won it all. After the 1993 season Bob Knight rarely won a Sweet 16 game. And,the Purdue team that Wisconsin went on to defeat in the next round was coached by Gene Keady who never made the Final Four.

Brady had his flaws and I'm glad he's gone, but he wasn't the disaster so many of you make him out to be.

I-59 -

You've used entirely too much logic. Most who read this might go into meltdown mode.

In the meantime, I agree with you BIGTIME about Brady. He seems to only get credit for his failures and the players get all the credit for his successes.

This team went 28-4 and won the SEC after 6 straight losing seasons. Yet, you select one bad game and denigrate the coach who led the resurrection of the basketball program. They somehow cobbled together this team while under the sword of NCAA investigation and draconian sanctions.

You may think he was outcoached but the loss had more to do with an NCAA tourney experienced team playing a team with no tourney experience. Wisonson was a physical team and the officiating was loose which played into their hands.

Thw Wisconsin team beat three other teams to get to the Final Four so they had to be playing well.

Why not enjoy the accomplishments of that wonderful season instead of focusing on one bad day?

Great memories

I don't think we've lost a senior night since 98 now that I think about it.

Brady and Mark Gottfried almost went to fisticuffs after the game when the Bama players jumped on the press table. We had just lost our second starter to a seasonn ending knee injury and emotions were raw that afternoon.

Ronald Dupree and Toris Bright were the stars of that team which was actually the next season. Jermaine Williams did leave the court openly crying as he walked off the PMAC court for what he thought was the last time on senior night. He got one more chance in the NIT and he once again became emotional as he left the court. It was great to have a player who cared that much.

Wow! Believe it or not, I just talked to him 10 minutes ago. He is about to have an ACL reconstruction tomorrow. He has been playing in South America for five years and plans to return after his knee recovers. He has a wife and daughter and seems very happy. He is one of my favorite people.

Wisconsin's D was so suffocating, LSU, on almost every possession in the second half looked like they were just struggling to even get the ball into the front court. Then, when they did manage to, they couldn't seem to even get a shot off.

LR was my favorite off of the sweet 16 run team. That was my Sr. year so I got to see all of the home games that year. That was a special year.
Anyways, I always thought LR was the unsung hero of that team. His D was nasty most of the time.
The next year when he blew out his knee, it crippled a team that would have been very competitive and probably made the tourney. IMO, he was the 1 guy that team couldn't afford to lose.

I'll never forget the day they won the SEC against Ole Miss. We were there in line at 7am and there were some guys who sleep out there. They brought their couch from their dorm room and had cooked up some Jamabalya. Stro, Jabari, LR, and the whole crew came through about 8-9 am and shot the shite with all of us sitting out their. Then they signed the couch for the guys.

And that win by LSU denied Ole Miss a share of what would have been their first ever SEC regular season basketball title. They are still waiting.

Yep. Lamont's best overall game I can remember seeing in person was when we played Auburn at home in 2000...beat them by 18 and made Chris Porter foul out very early in the 2nd half. Roland kept Scott Pohlman in check and also scored 18, himself, including a breakaway dunk that helped start to put the game away.

I remember that game and his performance so well, because that game marked the start of LSU's dominating play from late January until late February in '00. That Auburn game was the first time in about seven years that I had seen the Deaf Dome get absolutley buck wild on a week night.

i remember that game too... we left/righted porter HARD..... he faked sitting down if i remember .... fun game
