I personally hope she can take advantage of that and get it turned around

Well they're 9-2 with a likely top 15 RPI against a top 15 SOS, it's happening now. Worrying about her salary is just pointless.

Way too early but I like what I see so far and hope you are right.

Absolutely disagree, I ain't WORRIED a bit about it, it's just she hasn't earned it to this point. We pay her at a relative level to win at a level she has not achieved. That's not pointless at all. In fact that's the point.

We have to pay her whatever we agreed to pay her in the contract. You can not like that and think she hasn't earned it but it's not changing until she re-ups or you fire her.

Either way, it looks like the people who bitch for the sake of bitching about women's basketball are going to be quieted since this team actually appears to be pretty good.

You were responding to a post where I was discussing that she was very fortunate that she still had a job, that at other places if you are slotted at a relative salary to attain a certain level and you don't, you might not still have a job here as she does.

So it wasn't pointless to bring it up, it was in fact again the very point and relevant to bring up in that discussion.

If she had a full squad last year and only won 10 games, I think she would have been jettisoned then. When two of your best players go down barely 3 games into the season and two others miss significant time as the season goes on, and you have two really good transfers who have to sit out, then I think you get the benefit of the doubt of one year to try to make it right. I think so far, it has been shown that the pieces of the puzzle are indeed pretty good and Fargas is doing a good job of putting them together.

The team that played UNC yesterday looked better than any Tiger team since the last year Caldwell took them to tourney. I'm hopeful that we can make the tourney this year if we stay healthy (especially Moncrief and Hyder).

Caldwell's recruiting has been sub par. But, the new players this year (including an injured Faustine) and what looks like a great recruiting class on paper for next year should give fans some hope.

Unlike the men's coach, IMO Caldwell is an above average coach prepping a team and coaching a team in game. Her big problem has been recruiting and failing to fill scholarship positions up until now.

Our current team still has some holes including shooting (3 point, free throw, etc.) and some lack of size and depth inside (Neubert helps some for both of these deficiencies). The team plays hard and if they play defense like yesterday, will win a lot of SEC games.

Our current rpi is 7!

It looks like our player talent and depth is improving compared to the last few years. Our assistant coaches are the most talented that she's had so far.

Close continued evaluation over this year and next is my hope. I think the team is on the up slope barring injury. It is not time to be looking for a new coach at this time, IMO.

The first SEC Game is at Mississippi State, who will likely be ranked #5 with a 14-0 record. Should be one hell of an opportunity to see where they are.

I said it last season, and I'll say it this season..........

Coach Fargas can coach. Nobody disputes that..................and this team looks good relative to its talent level. However, the real shortcoming has been recruiting. LSU has the commitment and facilities of a top ten program. She needs to start recruiting on that level. I don't expect us to recruit on the level of Baylor, UConn, Notre Dame, or South Carolina right now. However, there's no reason that we should not be able to match programs like Duke, Georgia, and TAMU in that area. Right now, as someone mentioned, ESPN recruiting rankings has us at #19, which, sadly, is a drastic improvement over her last few classes. Recruiting is not over yet however, so hopefully she'll be able to add another highly ranked player. We'll see...........

Correct. Let them lose a game or two in a row and they'll come out of hiding calling for Nikki's head.
