I agree with everyone who is incredibly pissed about this, but I also think it’s weird that everyone is conveniently forgetting we all agreed he was not mentally well long before he was wrongly accused of manslaughter.
Oh, I feel for him and his family. To think taking yourself out is the answer has to be a miserable experience.
I am sure his family is hurting and desperate for some answers and I dont blame them.

People get wrongly accused all the time, it’s a sad situation. It’s why we have innocent until proven guilty. If anything blame social media for judging him before the case was over.
Apologies in advance for the long post:
These are your words and you fail to realize how significant they are. This is not like the ways of the past where things are simply decided in the courts and things go on as usual. Kids (and adults) today seek out social media for everything.
When this story was presented nationally, there were people out there that had already tried and convicted him. Called him out his name, racial slurs, and other terrible things (even on here). Even had he been cleared, there would always be those who felt he was responsible and just got off because he was a football player. It would never be simply because they got the wrong person. The fact that NFL teams were interested, but he still had to explain the circumstances; those are considered "red flags". Yes, there's a chance he could've still gotten drafted, but he would've lost so many millions due to this for simply having his name attached to it.
Remember when La'el Collins was going in the draft and was said to be a very high pick possibly first round? He was never even picked in the draft. What happened? His ex gf was murdered and his name was brought up in the investigation. He had zero to do with it, but it gave enough owners pause where they chose to leave him alone. Yes eventually Dallas picked him up as an UDFA but what did he lose. His credibility was lost and had to build it back. Thank God he had the resiliance and strong will to get through.
Suicide is a very selfish thing to do to your family. To have them to live with the fact of what you did. But it's often as a result of something much bigger. His mom mentioned how her own father committed suicide when she was young, so mental health concerns already existed. Nowadays, these kids feel they have no way out. They don't talk about things (or in their mind they dont feel they know how or maybe no one understands). I say this as I have my own issues with depression and dealing with it as well as my niece. I speak to her on the importance of opening up and telling people how you feel, directly and not use social media as the be all end all. But that's what some of these kids do.
I go on this long tangent to say that social media can be exciting, insightful and informative, but it's also a cesspool of hate, misinformation, cruelity and downright idiocracy. Some kids don't know how to navigate through that part and need direct guidance and love to know that through all the hardships everything will still be okay. I truly pray for all the families involved in this tragic situation.

He passed up 4 cars in a no pass zone BEFORE the wreck.

This....
Let's just say the lady who caused the accident looks up from her bag of Funjuns and sees Lacey passing 4 cars illegally, well over the speed limit, and in her lane. She then freaks out pulling into the adjanct lane... killing someone. Do you not hold Lacey accountable for his illegal behavior and find him in someway responsible for this death for his recklessness?
I do.
This lawyer wants to make money off this tradgedy and he has to grab a narrative that works for him. Just because Lacey ended up behind the wreck, in his correct lane, doesnt mean he didn't contribute to it...
Also, in the end he made the decision to put a bullet in his head instead of clearing his name.Ya'll keep calling him a kid as well...last time I checked he was a full grown man making his own choices.
I wish he had made a number of different decisions from the wreck on...but he did not. The cops were not out to get him because he was black.....not hardly, he was an LSU hero. Get over the constant race crap/police are all bad black people hater narratives. All this "Lacey was an innocent bystander to all of this" seems like a lawyer speak from a man who wants to collect his 1/3 and a very partial explanation for this horror....
