Just had a huge ovation at the end of the Bills game.

Announced this week he was retiring after an outstanding 13 year career as one of the best and least talked about DL in the league.

Coach took a timeout late so he could walk off by himself and get recognized by the crowd. They went nuts.

Also caught a pass in his last game, showing off the athleticism we all know about.

Great career for a great Tiger

quote:

Williams entered the league in 2006 as a fifth-round pick with the Bills, and became a mainstay on the defensive line. With one game to go, he has appeared in 182 games with 177 starts, totaling 607 career tackles (384 solo) -- 102 for a loss -- 48.5 sacks and 141 quarterback hits.

Age also hasn't slowed down his production, as the 35-year-old Williams enters Week 17 ranked second among defensive linemen with 620 total defensive snaps on the season, four behind defensive end Jerry Hughes (624).

Williams will finish his career as a five-time Pro Bowl selection and as one of the Bills' all-time fan favorites.

"Kyle Williams truly is a class act," Bills coach Sean McDermott said. "He bleeds red, white and blue and I'm extremely proud of everything he's accomplished."

Really feel like he and Devery Henderson are vastly underrated LSU players who did great things.

Think he beat the shite out of Melvin Oliver in the locker room after MO beat his old lady in that grocery store parking lot.

Definitely! Emotional leader for our team back in the day. Took it to the next level and succeeded mightily. One of the best Tigers of all time.

Two of my all time favorites

Easy to forget that KW was a huge contributor on the 03 NC DL.

He was the star in 04 and especially 05, but he was the unsung guy with Lavalais, Spears, and Hill getting all of the publicity in 03.

But he actually dominated the Auburn game, and was big all season eating blocks along with Lavalais inside.

Would be awesome to see him get into Canton down the road as an “old timer”. Guy was a feared and respected player for over a decade on a bad team unfortunately.

I was at this game.
Great game and great tribute. Crowd was going wild.
Had a TFL and just missed one final sack.

Pass catch out of the backfield was epic!

My son has a NC hat signed by Kyle Williams and Justin Vincent.

At the time we both thought JV would be the most recognized signature.

Boy were we wrong

A great and classy Tiger. Stuck it out his whole career with a bad franchise instead of chasing more money elsewhere. Knowledgeable fans, it’s awesome the way they acknowledged him in that fashion and the way they sent him out in style.
