True, but if a OL, WR, TE or RB coach is needed, the OC may have some input.

I bet Charlie THE TUNA Weise had veto power at Fla.

krags can be the savior, and it wont take much. just improve an anemic passing game and we'll probably build him a statue and boost him to another head coaching gig somewhere.

if the offense doesnt show improvement- and specifically through the air- he will be a popular fall guy. guess it just depends on where you stand in the pro/anti-miles camps

The strong defense, place kicking of Jasper & special teams play contributed more than their share to the Tigers 11-2 record; the offense has a lot of room for improvement & was very inconsistent.

While that's true, I thought the offense played better in the last 3rd of the season.

I know the scoring from the Bama game on improved to bout 37 points a game.

Does the fact that Kragthorpe coming to LSU ALONE send the message that Miles is calling all the shots on offense?

No. There wasn't a revamping of the offensive staff because Gonzo just got there, and Stud showed some improvement. Krags doesn't have to "save" a program that's loaded and was one win from playing in the SEC-CG, with an outside shot of playing in the big game with one loss.

Maybe your premise is flawed...

I get the feeling a lot of LSU fans are ready for our offense to look completely different and be a dominant force now. I mean we have the talent but we always do! Why is this guy so different?

Sometimes you're just missing one piece. I don't think Krags was even an "A" grade hire. But, I could be wrong. Also, a "B minus" might be all we need at this point.

Both if LSU fails to improve he is new fall guy... if LSU improves offensively he is a savior

Well, did'nt Jimbo on his way out of here, comment something to the effect ; "Less Miles does'nt have a clue"? Since Jimbo was no shrinking violet that would tell me that Miles calls the shot.

because it's a new coach.

if the offense is where people want it, he's the savior.

if it still struggles, he'll be the new fall guy.

Well, if that was Jimbo's opinion and I'm thinking it wasn't, but if it was...appears the one without a "clue" was Jimbo, huh.

Bottom line, it's kinda hard to be seen as a "savior" of a program that's already Top 8 in the nation and one which is Top 5 ranked in winning percentage for BCS programs since 2005 and one that has had 4 11 win seasons in the last 6.

there was nothing wrong with the offense, completely anyway.

even if les is calling the shots, the running game has been great for 5 out of 6 years.

the only down year was 09. and ciron was hurt (which we never were told) and the o line was young, thin, and undersized.

the problem has been the qb hitting the pass plays called. now you can blame that on gary, or the qbs, or whatever. but that's been the only problem with lsu the last 6 years of les's tenure (when there was a problem).

Fall guy. Krags was a great head coach at Tulsa but will not have that latitude here. Les will micromanage the offense and if we see mildly better qb play that's all we can expect. Les is going to run the ball and our qb's aren't allowed to check to a pass or aren't Intelligent enough to check in to a pass. If krags can teach jj to look off 1 safety this entire season he will be worth his weight in gold!

Relax guys any one on this rant would be better than GC. We will be fine. Look for much improvement this year even with our tough schedule.
