blah, blah, blah.....let 'em march and do their thing..........big deal!........it means nothing!

"Do their thing?" Have you ever been to a "march" such as this and watched it get out of hand? The KKK, Nazi youths and others do have a legal right to assemble, protest and "march," provided they aren't violent or incite violence.

After working and living in Texas for 4 years, I'm not surprised you say that this deal "means nothing." Perhaps not to you or me, but I wonder how our black starting QB feels about it? You know, the kid who we say "can't throw the deep ball," "doesn't know the playbook," etc.?

Having said that, please know I am NOT at all saying you're racist. As a sinner of the worst kind, I can only judge myself, and for me and my family I have the responsibility to not be apathetic about behavior like this, especially when it also occurs at LSU, in Calif., and at
UT-Austin sporting events and rallies.

I'm only responding to your post because you're living there now. And I'm fairly certain you'd agree that one doesn't need to spend a lot of time in Texas (particularly at football games) before you witness first-hand just how blatant racial hatred is "out there."

You know, we'll rant for weeks about how it's totally unacceptable to even once boo ANY player at LSU, including a white QB who at times appears to be playing catch with some invisible receivers that exist only in his mind. We say it will hurt his feelings, adversely affect his already-shattered confidence and we should direct any booing to LSU's coaches and their vexing play-calling.

Know what? I totally agree that it's never OK to boo our players, period. But it's also not OK to simply brush aside this "meaningless" little rally.

The main reason, IMHO, is that overall we're much better than that--and so is LSU. You only have to go 26 pages into our current football Media Guide to find a feature on LSU's on-campus African-American Cultural Center. And it's not just window-dressing. Ask any of our players (and their parents) and they will tell you the Center is very important to them. So are the academic advisers and the work they do to help all LSU student-athletes.

I did not see any Black people protesting the Black Panthers when they used intimadation tactics at the voting precincts. Its time to stop being ashamed to be White. The White man built this nation. My father, grandfather, great grandfather had nothing to do with slavery I WILL NOT be held responsible or apologize for it! I am for equal rights for everyone...It seems Whites have been quite content to let their rights slip away in fear someone may call them a racist. If it were the Black Panthers going to Southern ESPN would cover the "Great Event" and most of you would be too scared to stand up and say anything about it. Wake Up! If this offends you

I agree, the door swings both ways. I think the folks on TD.com have proven long ago that when it comes to loving or hating our white & black QBs, even when racism is just there (esp. this year), us Ranters play no favorites. For the most part, LSU's fan base is just plain frustrated and dissapointed with the team's dismal offense, so the QBs are gonna take the heat.

Anyone, white, black, or other persons of color deserves the equal rights as you say. No one should have to apologize or be afraid of being labeled or pay a penalty from others because of race, unless it's at someone elses' expense.

Obviously, it doesn't always work that way in the world, but we can all do our part to improve race relations & advance racial equality (even if it's a little bit at a time). But being a member of a hate group, a gang or the KKK isn't the way to do it.

What the heck is wrong with you? Don't you read responses to your own posts? It helps when you do.

I'll answer your first question: No.
Also, I don't need to "want" Jefferson. He's already the starting QB and will be unless he gets hurt again. And the coaches decided long ago that JJ gives LSU the best chance to win (which is why J. Lee hardly ever played until JJ was knocked out of the Alabama game).

Here's another reason that has nothing to do race: what's happened w/Lee at QB, esp. last week. First, 4 total net yards in the 4th qtr. vs. 'Bama. Second, he gets the start at Tiger Stadium vs. 3-7 LA Tech. and has quite possibly the worst performance of any LSU QB ever in a home non-conference game. And we still won.

Your other question should be answered by my other posts, which you apparently didn't bother to read or can't comprehend. Also, I don't believe in answering a question that I'd never ask another person, esp. someone I don't even know.

The most ridiculous part about the whole confederate flag issue is that we venerate one of the worst mistakes in history.

The South was wrong to secede, and it was wrong to preserve slavery too. We lost. Time to move on.

As for the KKK....if I am in charge of that campus, there is no way in hell they get permission to march.

I'm a proud southerner as well, and it just hurts to say this...But it's true. Take away the slavery issue (which is honestly what it was about) and it's still a bad FN idea. The Union isn't a club. You don't quit when things aren't going your way.
