The comments were not made in that kind of setting, where it was "who will challenge UGA in the east. They were off the cuff comments when asked a general question. But that doesn't mean that wasn't what he meant doesn't mean it was what he meant. But he sure heaped a ton of praise on Moo State, even said he thinks they will make the College Football playoffs, I shite you not!!!
Love the guy but he is definitely down on LSU football.

Typically when they are talking about a game, they ask what’s the toughest game on UGAs schedule. Who will challenged Georgia is understood to mean the division

yes, Spears DID play in Death Valley and he personally knows how difficult it is for teams to come in and win, however, the last time Georgia came into DV, they hung 50+ on us ... also with the current collection of talent on defense, we don't know what we are going to get for certain. Yeah, you can spout off the names, White, Lawrence, Williams, etc. but any talk about how "special" this defense can be is purely speculative for now.
I'm all for positivity, but Marcus does get paid to be obejctive, he isn't Finebaum...

They're still under a ton of pressure, because this is still a team that has the talent to compete for the SEC West title. If you think 8 wins is acceptable in O's second year where other coaches have taken their steps forward you're mistaken.

Everyone needs to calm down on our preseason projections.
They are primarily based on returning players that started or had significant playing time last year. We have a large amount of players, new comers, not eligible and transfers, that are being counted on this year that were not on the field last year. Nobody is going to go out on a limb projecting strong play for these guys.
Lets just let the season play out. That's the good thing about the SEC, you can be unranked and predicted as one of the the worst teams in the league and make it to the championship game as Auburn did just a few years ago
