I’m willing to give O the chance, but you are right, the way recruiting is going, not looking good for LSU. Coach O has to win some big games this yr. and I think he knows that.

Also, this board needs to chill the crap out. These kids are 17 yrs old, they are idiots, long way to go till signing day, but many on this board are idiots also bc they acting like the sky is falling right now.

You know how many people, mostly bama fans, like to say saban kills coaches and programs, Alleva single handily is killing LSU football, and he must go after this yr, even if LSU wins 9 or 10. The way the coach search was conducted with a several months head start was pathetic.

I don’t understand why people think A&M has not had talent. You can talk about recruiting rankings but look how many first rounders came off that fluke Johnny m team. They still could not get much done. To have success in the sec west requires national championship level play and luck. It’s possible the stars align for them but not likely for many of the reasons others have stated. If Texas gets its act together it only gets harder. It gets very hard if results don’t come quick.

They went 11-2 and finished in the top 5. The overall talent did decline after that

I mean go look at Mississippi States recruiting classes and go look at LSU’s and tell me who has more talent

Miss state has more all sec players than lsu this year.

Of course it benefits us to have weak coaches at our opponents, but Fisher has been mediocre at best the last
several years, while Smart had one great year and has not
proved the test of time. Georgia is very hot right now, but all it takes is one mediocre season to bring them back to earth. That will be the test for Smart to see if he is a top coach or not

Typically mediocre head coaches dont get 75 million dollar contracts and if he is mediocre do we really want to replace Alleva with the guy who just gave a mediocre coach a 75 million dollar contract?
