I was there with one of my buddies in the south end zone. There was a couple that were Houston fans sitting right in front of us. Once we scored to go ahead my buddy shouts out "Houston, we have a problem". The woman turned around and gave him a set of eyes that looked like she wanted to carve his liver. We just busted out laughing as she turned around.

Herb wasn’t the most accurate or talented QB for sure, but he was a gamer. He gave his all every game and was fun to watch many games. Frustrating too, but I respected Herb Tyler’s fight.

Good on Orgeron for having him do that

I was actually wondering if they’d do something like that to take advantage of having someone with his experience in the locker room

John Robinson hopefully too has said something to the team about his experiences

Both have been on the biggest stages and are valuable

Truth. I remember the 1987 Sugar Bowl against Nebraska when we scored early. Thought we had a good chance until we got blown away for the rest of the game.

And, you're forgetting Herb. I know he's polarizing, but he was also a winner.

How was he polarizing? The kid gave his all on the field and was a total warrior. ‘97 Florida game should be enough. Had Dinardo and Tepper’s defense not screwed the pooch he would have with more accolades. He should have been the quarterback that broke the Tides Tiger Stadium streak in ‘98 but Booty lost a sure TD and the defense shite the bed late.
frick anyone who doesn’t appreciate Tyler.

My first and only bowl game to actually attend. A little part of me doesn't want to go to any bowl games because I feel like it would be bad luck.

That game was horrendous. And that LSU team was one of the good ones over the years.

Man, I STILL have this copy of Sports Illustrated here at the house with me. I was there and will never forget that night. Faulk and Tyler will ALWAYS get my respect!

See Ya Later!

I once threw a pass to Kevin, but he dropped it

I still love him though and he's one of the best Tigers to ever put on the uniform.

They need to bring in a member or members of the 2011 team in too.

Because he wasn't a drop back and sling it QB.

Some LSU "fans" weren't always his biggest supporter.

I tend to agree with this sentiment.

Now, I will say, he seems to be better appreciated as the years go by.
