Bottom line, I think he gets a lot of negativity here and it's largely unfounded. As I said, a lot of you seem to be infatuated with younger coaches who have accomplished less.

First. I respect you admitting that you don't follow college hoops closely. I also agree with you that some fans are simply insatiable, but it's safe to say there are a handful of us that don't need to look at Kermit's historical record. We've actually seen him coach games(before this tourney).

The said younger coaches have accomplished less due to their age. They will be the coaches in 5 years the average fan asks "why can't we hire a guy like that".

Check your polls? What do you mean, those three have had consistent football and basketball programs for 20 years, or are you just talking about this year?

Louisville

Louisville is the first school ever to win a BCS bowl game, appear in the men's and women's basketball Final Fours, and appear in the College World Series in the same school year, doing so in 2012–13.

Not a bad year

I'll assume, for the sake of civility, that you misinterpreted my post and will just ignore your first couple of statements.

As far as the younger coaches who have accomplished less "due to age" comment... So, you're acknowledging that those opinions are just assumptions based on no measurable outcome to date. I appreciate that honesty very much. Assuming a young coach will be the next star can be a crap shoot. I'd prefer proven success especially good showings in the tournament.

I agree that Davis shouldn't be the top candidate, but I'm not comfortable with assuming another candidate with fewer accomplishments will eventually achieve more just because the average fan on a message board says so. Davis isn't my first choice either, but well regarded basketball minds speak highly of him and I'll put more faith in that than the opinion of the rant.

Having said that, I'd prefer Brey or Collins. If I'm taking a young guy, I'd go with Forbes. Davis would not be a bad hire if you get to that point, but yes, I'd prefer someone else gets first offer.

So good he's been stuck without anyone wanting him for 15 years at mid tenn. y'all deserve him though he lost that conference for many years before the last two. Good luck with that.

ETA: my school is the school who used to beat mid tenn for the conference.

And Johnny Jones beat Kentucky what 3-4 times? Ignoring 20 years because of one game is the epitome of stupid.

Wait so you want a list top 15 teams but what you want here is a top 25 or NCAA team? I dunno if you realize how stupid that is. So I'll disregard your loaded unfair comparison and go with the teams that are where you want us to be.

1- Florida
2 - michigan
3 - Wisconsin
4- michigan state
5- Florida state
6- North Carolina
7- ucla
8- Oregon
9- West Virginia
10- okie state
11- Baylor
12- ohio state
13- Texas
14- k-state
I could keep going but we are well past 3 so.

not real good examples.
Louisville should be on the list along with Ohio State. Hell right now I would settle for South Carolina's success in basketball. They have a gillion times less basketball tradition than we do and they went out and hired a good coach from a power 5 school. Don't tell me it can't be done.
