Saw the article on ESPN earlier this morning. Link attached below. Apparently, he isn't too happy about some of the decision-making going on, including giving a seven-figure salary to the retiring AD for a new position with "no defined duties".

To be fair, it's a bigger concern if you're going to compare it in a vacuum to Landry poking his nose into the firing and hiring of football and basketball coaches.

But I am sure the mainstream media members like Rece Davis, Pat Forde and McAfee will be clutching their pearls, screaming "Why would anyone want to go and coach at this circus when the governor is getting involved?!?!?" with multiple think pieces like there was with us after BK was let go.

Not sure what you are exactly complaining about. You literally linked an ESPN article about it.

Hes a leftist so he's exempt from being criticized by media.

Guess you didn't get the sarcasm. Don't think we'll hear a peep from them about this.

It’s a totally different situation. His main concern is creating a new position without defined responsibilities for 1 million a year. Also uk hired a dean of law with no faculty recommendation for that candidate. Kentucky governor isn’t advocating for coaches or ADs to get fired or hired. He’s not filling up the board of supervisors with friends to hire campaign donors.

I indicated previously that the situation was different.

The article also stated that this is coming off of the heels of Kentucky football firing Mark Stoops with a massive buyout, and basketball struggling after getting rid of Calipari.

Coincidence? Maybe so, but athletics struggling was implied as a reason he publicly voiced his displeasure in the article.

Board of supervisors/trustees are appointed by the governor of both schools, so that's well within their right to do as he/she pleases regardless of if we agree with it or not.

I wasn’t happy with Landry when he first started sticking his nose into LsU athletics. But I do have to admit, Lane Kiffin and Will Wade later I have come around.
