It’s not really a good argument cuz everyone knows that $5 is worth more than $1 but having both equals $6 which is the highest value. Probably a dumb example but it’s what I got
Basically, losing Kelvin Joseph or a similar talent doesn't make your team better in any way shape or form.

Then why do all 3 of your posts in here read like you are very unhappy?
Don't know. I was listening to the Minnesota vs UGA softball game. I wanted the Super Regional to be in Baton Rouge. But I am not going so I don't think I am that unhappy right now.

Edit: You forgot Devin White.
Sure did. MY BAD. I think it was such a given he was going that I had forgotten he was an early departure for the NFL.

Ree I think you’re missing the point. No one is worried about the 2018 class affecting the 2019 season. People are worried that we will have a lack of depth and a young team in 2020 and 2021.
Basically what should be the junior or senior class will be almost nonexistent.
Because the very lowest rated players in the 2018 class PLUS Davin Cotton are leaving?
You worry yourself over it if you want. I'm cool with it. If the top rated players were leaving I would be worried.

He’s saying it’s addition by subtraction.
He’s not wrong but like you said he is missing the point. LSU used multiple scholarships on players who left after one season.
What would be even more damning would be to go see when the players who entered the portal committed, because if a player like Livingston or Cotton was committed in say, May or June of 2017, then it’s a scholarship used on a player that not only left after a year, but stunted any pursuit of another recruit at that position.
I have not checked to see when these players each committed so this is not something that I am trying to argue, just saying that is an aspect of recruiting to consider. I think the 2019 and 2020 classes show that Orgeron is trending up and the 2018 class may be an outlier.
What I don’t understand is why it’s so bad to say the 15th ranked class was a disappointment.

Though 2019 will probably have more starters than the 2018 class:

That's not good you know.
Sure man. In what fricked up world is it better for your recruiting classes to be getting worse each year instead of better?
The 2020 class will probably have more true freshmen starters that 2019 and 2018. OH NO, cry a river, no class should have more freshmen starters than 2018. NEVER, EVER Ha Ha ha Ha

I hope the new AD fires the guy responsible for that. Who was it again? Former head coach Les Miles?
Well, one last thing for the new AD to worry about.

I don’t think it’s just cuz those guys are leaving.
It’s that outside of the 5 or so guys that contributed as freshman, that class leaves a lot to be desired.
It was filled with Jucos and Transfers that will be gone after this upcoming year and on top of that, the bottom of the class is transferring out.
Basically after next year that class will have lost:
Joseph (possibly)
Lewis
Traore
Tracy
Burrow
Cotton
Scott
Scheffer
Provens
Fohoko
Giles
That’s 11 guys off the top of my head that are gone before that class even becomes juniors.
I’m a pro O guy so I’m Not just bashing to bash.
This is a real concern.

I'm grasping for any explanation as to why it's bad to have MORE talent on a football team as opposed to less.
You realize there is a cap to how many players a college football team can have?
You can't keep everyone. Might as get rid of the lowest rated players who are freshmen and can go play elsewhere so you don't waste resources on them. I don't know, maybe you want the best players from a class to leave? Someone has to go.
Again, this is not about Kelvin since his father has said he is staying. This is from Davin Cotton down to the very bottom of the 2018 list.

He doesn't have the chest to compete with Brooks?..Or is it grades?

This whole thread is about Kelvin Joseph so if you are leaving him out then your whole take is in the wrong thread.

Kelvin Joseph says Kelvin Joseph Jr is NOT LEAVING LSU

His father tweeted that out several hours before you even posted in here.
Were you sitting on that tweet in some feeble attempt of a gotcha moment?
I’m done talking to you. Life’s too short to engage people who are unhappy with their own lives.

It really does seem that way when you leave out the statement about LSU losing very few draft eligible players to the NFL draft. Why didn't you quote that part?
LSU usually loses 6 or more experienced starters early to the NFL.
Not this year so to have one freaking 4-star player leave along with the lowest rated 3-stars from one class is nothing to cry about. LSU could have a lot more declare for the draft and could have a lot more and higher rated players enter the transfer portal.
I will stick with being happy that only 3 players declared early and only the lowest rated players have entered the portal AND Davin Cotton. And most of them may have been told to enter the portal.

Davin Cotton had three tackles. Tae Provens had four carries.
That's it. That's all you are losing. The other players recorded no stats and did not play at all.

So let's see... Moffit was what? A jr? Correct me if I'm wrong (and I'm not) but wasn't Washington done for the season and Pettigrew hurt as well? So that means, behind Foster and Moffit, who else is left? And so 2018 Te depth (plus Moss) was A Senior in both Washington and Moreau, a Jr. In pettigrew, and Moffit. So.. tell me again how we didn't need depth there?
