Durham ran 17 times for 74 yards. 4.4 ypc
Zavion ran 3 times for 27 yards. 7.8 ypc

There were 11 other runs by various players, including the sack yards, that bring the average down. We ran the ball just fine considering the stout defense we were playing.

The Oline produced running lanes. We are going to be solid running the ball this year.

Let's see how we do vs Florida. Florida has a good defense. It was the first game with all new starters on the o line. I think the Tech game will allow them to work out some kinks and be ready for Florida.

Sloane needs to run more of the misdirection runs. Those have a competitive advantage. The straight up off tackle runs are putrid and outdated (waste of downs)

We had 4 ypc before they tried running th clock out. They ran the ball well. 3.8 isn’t abysmal. Calm down.

I am not convinced you know this to be true. How about explaining it?

I’m not 100% sure it’s the best defensive live we will play all year. I’m just going off mock draft predictions. I’m making an assumption based on talent.

Add in the two kneel downs by Nuss.
I thought LSU ran the ball effectively.

We do have some talent there, but not a ton of depth. I think that’s a sign of the times and the transfer portal. Who wants to be part of a stable of running backs with depth?

I thought our blocking was good but we need a bigger running back. We washed the defenders down which opened up a big hole to the backside on a number of plays but our backs didn't take advantage.

I don't know why we insist on running it up a crowded middle.

If the lane isn't there go around the side.

And his sack yardage. We actually ran for like 120 or so.

No our feature RB Cade D averaged almost 5yds a carry, kept us in great 3rd down situations - look Clemson deliberately went out and got Allen to stop the run game. He’s got one of the best DLs & LBs crews in the country. LSU continued to establish and run the ball and complete enough throws to move the chains. It was a great game plan. The Defense was everything we heard it was during the fall even though we crushed our new OL everyday. OL was pretty dam good and the Defense was No myth this camp it was the real deal Saturday Night in Lil Death Valley.

LSU thankfully was able to run it 31 times in 70 plays. Only 3.5 yards a carry, but it also helped LSU control the clock for 37 minutes as well. They were able to keep a balanced attack and keep the ball away from Clemson. That’s my opinion. I think LSU did enough against a stout Clemson defensive line. I guess we will see in the coming weeks if LSU can run better, worse, etc. I do feel like they need to be committed to the run rather than being one dimensional.

What remains to be seen is whether BK can keep them focused.

We won’t see a more talented defensive line the rest of the year

bama d line, Florida d line, A&M d line.

All three better than Clemson d line

I’m as excited as the next over winning Saturday but we can’t forget the fact that a lot of the play calling was atrocious.

This is Kelly’s year to get it done. He has everything lined up. Of course hopefully no major unforeseen injuries and Kelly has no more excuses. We even won our first game on the road against a talented team.

Knock knock knock hello…. Clemson is very good especially their front seven. Possibly best we’ll see all year!
