May the Good Lord receive him into His loving arms and grant him eternal peace. May He also bless and comfort his family and friends.

I'm guessing that would be Scott Korte, whom Dandy Don had ranked as his 42nd (i think) ranked recruit for next year.

Yesterday (Monday) I started posted the names of the top 50 prospects on my LA Top Prospect List for the Class of 2010 starting at No. 50 and going down. Today am posting numbers 41-45.

41. Deuce Coon (ATH), 6’1”, 190, Redemptorist
42. Scott Korte (DT), 6'3", 250, Fontainbleau
43. Hunter Stover (K/DB), 6'1", 205, Notre Dame
44. Will Briscoe (QB/ ATH), 6'1", 180, Central BR
45. Ricky Irvin (DB/LB), 6'1", 215, Westlake

Dandy had it on his 1/13 update.

Sad to see young people die like this.

I posted incorrectly. It was Steve's son Shane, not Scott. I confirmed this per a notice in the obituaries.

My apologies on the mistake above.

Meanwhile, another automobile accident on Highway 22 in Mandeville claimed the life of 20 year-old Shane Korte over the weekend. The accident occurred Thursday night. Korte is the middle son of former New Orleans Saints offensive lineman and current WWL Radio broadcaster Steve Korte. Steve is a friend and a good man. Shane is survived by his parents and two brothers. Older brother Steve played briefly at LSU. Like Steve, Shane was a graduate of Fontainebleau High School. Youngest brother Scott is currently a junior at Fontainebleau. Funeral services for Shane Korte are set for Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in Covington at 2260 West 21st Avenue. On behalf of NewOrleans.Com, our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers go out to both the Kling and Korte families in this very difficult time.
