Had a chance to watch Mason Katz last night in Cleburne Tx as they played Katz's Winnipeg Goldeyes. Apparently this was Katz's first series with the new team and he looked rusty, striking out a couple of times before being replaced at catcher in the 9th.

He had a rough night but still managed a grin and a "geaux tigers" when he saw my son's LSU hat.

Hoping he can get back on track and catch on somewhere, I always enjoyed watching him in the purple and gold.

A poster on here last week mentioned Katz had been cut by his team. I guess Mason can't give up his dream to play in the Bigs.

I also saw in today's Advocate on their "Louisiana Players in the Pros" chart that Tyler Moore is not on the list.

Does anyone know if that was just an error or is he out of the game now?

Also, Austin Nola has been bumped back down to AA by the Marlins. And he's listed as a catcher.

The bright side was Katz was the designated beer hitter.... every time he struck out it was 2 for 1 beers for 10 minutes. He had alot of fans after his second K.

Played against the golden eyes in the old northern league. The legit Indy league and players get pulled all the time to the regular aa. Slim chance at this point but hope for the best.

Tyler Moore retired and is back at LSU finishing his degree & working in his familiy's business.

I doubt if Mason ever gets another legit chance at MLB. Once you go to Indie league it's usually a slow death spiral.
