The Mariners’ pitching riches extend from Seattle down to Double-A, where Anderson and righthander Ryan Sloan are two of the finest pitching prospects in baseball. Drafted No. 3 overall out of LSU last year, Anderson has shredded Double-A competition and leads the minor leagues with a 1.36 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and 108 strikeouts. Other top performers on the Mariners farm include Sloan himself as well as Double-A right fielder Lazaro Montes and shortstop Felnin Celesten, center fielder Jonny Farmelo and catcher Luke Stevenson, all at High-A.
