I can think of a higher ranked team that was worse.
Remember in '00, I think it was, when Bama was ranked #3 and went on the road to UCLA and got annihilated. They went on to have a 3-8 record that year.
Pretty safe to say that they were worse than we are.

Here was my take on the same subject this morning on a thread that asked that question:
....or are we ready to surprise the world...
I have not been impressed at all this year but for some reason... I am optimistic today. I think we will go to Athens and win by 17 points as the offense finally gets in gear with some nice sustained drives running to the wide side of the field and throwing downfield. When the offense starts to perform up to the level that they are capable - the defense will really stand out as they will not be on the field as much and can use their ahtletisism to pull off some big turnovers.
After we beat Georgia - this team, this rant, and this fan base will quickly start believing that perhaps we can beat Florida! Most importantly - I think Florida will start to wonder if they can beat us in Death Valley!
