Sounds to me like Crowton's history and Gonzales is the man very soon.
How you could derive that from that article is beyond belief. It's just the opposite of what the writer was trying to imply. Perhaps you are letting what you want guide your thinking, instead of understanding what is.

Here to help Crowton with organization...what in the hell is this guy making 1 million a year for?

Did it really take a recruiting violation for Les to smell the coffee?
Duly noted, and excellent observation. A valid criticism (among many) of Les Miles is that he moves too slowly when things need to be fixed. And for the kool-aid drinkers, no, firing someone at the end of the season or after years of damaging our players is not what I'm looking for here.

Yeah I know, and then Crowton went out and ran Jimbo Fisher's offense during the 2007 season and...wait. Oops, my bad, 2007 was the year we ran Crowton's offense and won the Nat'l Championship.

Yes, Crowton needs to get tighter.

I got the same feel for this article. "Helping Crowton with organization and play calling"
That reafirms that Crowton had no grasp/control over the offense as a whole and therefore is a FAILURE at being "Offensive Coordinator" Let's get serious here, are those not the very foundations and descriptions of his job, organization and play calling? Crowton has failed at his responsibilities as far as I have seen and now heard. But whether he stays or goes, look for immediate improvements on offense since someone else is handling something he used to.

Great writeup though

Hey Tiger in Atlanta I gather that from what I read because we usually get smoke blown up our arse until somebody gets canned. So keep believing everything you read "Genius".

Changed very little overall. He installed his complete package the next year and ..........ooops....we started declining immediately and haven't stopped till now...and we are ONLY 108th in the world!!!!!!!

"Gonzales made it a point, on numerous times, that he's not here to take over for Crowton

I wonder if he or someone he knows has been reading TD"

Just the fact that had to say that says a lot.

The three possible answers

Gonzales: Yes
Rant-"Gonzales is going to take over for Crowton"

Gonzales:No
Rant-"Me thinks that G doth protest too much - maybe something is going on"

Gonzales: No comment
Rant - "Why would he just not come out and say
'yes' or 'no' - something fishy is going on"

Well, if you read between the lines instead of what you want to hear, it would go something like this.

-LSU cannot afford $$ to can Crowton right now
-Les does not operate like this, he doesn't 'bring people in to replace others' while they are still on the job. His whole MO since he has been at LSU has been to replace people at years end after they have finished their work, not embarrass them while they are still here.
-If Gonzales really is here to replace Crowton, why 'telegraph' that to the fanbase, so that all kinds of speculation can occur on message boards and on radio about Crowton being fired, why not just name Gonzales the WR coach and then have him replace Crowton, later, after the bowl game? What does naming him "Passing coordinator" do, how does that help the situation? Just fire Crowton now, which I am in favor of actually.
-Occom's Razor theory, sometimes things just are what they are. What we see is what is happening. The guy has been brought in to help Crotwon with his deficiencies. Crowton stays but Gonzales has a hand in things and helps Crowotn where he seems to be lacking.
-The theory that Gonzales may be being groomed for later OC is still valid, however, or he may have been promised a job where he can "co-coordinate" in the background, and then use that on his resume with Les's blessing in a few years when he tries to go out on his own and become an OC at another school.

No, but we are living in "Les World" right now.
