So you don't think who we played has anything to do with how we played? That is retarded. LSU gets up for big games.

The first part of the first quarter actually looked like the same lSU team that showed up against Oregon, but the opponent does have something to do with the intensity and game plan. I liked opening with Oregon, disliked opening with North Texas. Just my opinion. We get a better chance to see what the team is made of next Saturday.

They were up for first game and playing at home. Then seemed to lose interest when they weren't being challenged.

I think we look completely different against the huskies.

The biggest thing completely looked over was the extremely short week of practice (as others have pointed out), but specifically let's face it. LSU and/or the fans didn't even know we were playing the game until Thursday afternoon.

Watching LSU offense with Mett under center is 1,000 times more enjoyable than the past 4 seasons. I forgot what it was like.

So the defensive scheme was to leave receivers open because Denard is not a good passer. I guarantee that's exactly what Saban told his players the weeks leading up to the game.

Dude, use common sense. If you have a top rushing QB in the country who isn't known for passing skills, you are going to hedge a bet with more QB pressure. That invariably leaves receivers open. It's obviously something to work on, but it's certainly not a sign that Alabama is easily exposed. I assume that all defensive schemes aren't created equal.

Robinson is far more effective when he's given the opportunity to run. Alabama shut that down for the most part. His arm isn't the strongest, and the throws he was able execute downfield were successful. It's not like I was saying there isn't anything to work on. I was just saying that the focus was less on receivers than it was on minimizing their strongest threat.

Why would you waste manpower on covering receivers when you can be more effective using that manpower to eliminate the threat to begin with?

Watching it as well. Mettenberger stepping up in pocket should help with the pressure off te edge.

We should be alright. First game. Chavis will fix small problem with defense. Miles will Miles the offense and we will keep winning, because that's what he does.

I can criticize miles all day, but at the end of the day the guy is a proven winner. Even though he pisses me off, I am proud to have him as the coach of this damn strong football team.

They were open all game. This is actually magnified by the fact that michigan had no running backs. Saban doesn't use a dime package as far as I know. They are however using more nickle this year because he is worried.

The Bama secondary is a definite weakness that can be exploited. Michigan had opportunities just not The players to execute, similar to Oregon last year against us. I like our chances nov 3.

I am trying. I remember when you guys opened with kent state last year. AJ threw 2 picks right? Didn't Trent have like 50 yards rushing? And sacks were gave up?

Yep. It's a marathon, not a sprint. LSU will be fine. It's good that Mett was able to have a little bit of time to find his legs. If Alabama comes out and is sluggish against Western Kentucky, I'll assume they are saving energy for Arkansas. I'd rather they save up energy for that game than worry about a beauty pageant against an inconsequential team.

Idk why any LSU fan would be upset after the first week. LSU is really freakin good.

It's hard for teams to get up against bad competition. Same thing goes for in game matchups. Alabama's corners would have nickeled down if Michigan had a good passing QB...but there was just no threat there. I'm not saying they'd gain super powers but I really think they would have focused more on superb coverage. Plus it was the diary game with a somewhat young secondary. Alabama will be very good in the coverage this year.

As for the guy who brought up Lacy...did you see Yeldon?
