Outside of Devin White, and Greedy Williams we virtually returned everyone from last year, but we suck some times on defense. We played a whole lot better defense last year. I think overall we play the run a whole lot better this year compared to last year. Right now our defense sucks balls. Were we that good or was Devin White was that good? I just don't get it. We lost John battle and Ed Alexander as well but they aren't difference makers. What gives?

I still think the schemes are too complex at times. Guys are overthinking instead of just playing.

I personally just think they’re soft this year.

Its okay, only actual football knowledge individuals can see and understand the details for what has happened.

To simplify it, dont worry about it, we are FINE.

Battle was more important than his obscurity behind other star players indicates.

But the truth is this.

This is just a different year. Our offense changed. that doesn’t excuse the gash plays. But we are still winning.

We can still win the whole thing even with this defense.

I am looking forward to the rest we get after the sechampionship game.

Devin White was a general. That kind of production this year on defense would've been really nice.

We play undisciplined especially on the back end (LBs and safeties). Goes back to tackling well, doing your assignment, trusting the guys around you to do theirs.

Oh, and Aranda is a poor game day coach. He adjusts slowly in the 2nd half after the opponent adjusts to him.

Might be something to Devin's ability to check us into the right defense last year, but all of this falls on our DC.

It would be nice to get our 3rd string in by 3min into the 3rd quarter against Arky.

Beside those already named, it seems almost every defensive player has had some sort of leg or ankle injury this year. Rashard, Delpit, Fulton, Logan, Shelvin, Vincent, Fehoko, Harris, Thomas. This is just what I can recall. I am not sure how impactful these are, or if they make any difference in their overall performance, but it seems almost every defensive player has been impacted at some point,.

I am seriously concerned about The D. It's one thing if one or two teams get you confused or just have certain match ups they can explode. Several teams are having their best day of the season vs LSU. Also it's one thing to occasionally give up say 250 yards rushing because the D gets tired and the other team powers some yards running clock late... but 400 with 9 a pop with many long gains pretty much uncontested is disturbing.

Secondary has gotten too thin that Delpit has to be out there clearly not playing at full speed. Years past you would sit a Landry and have a Steltz trot in. Losing Harris plus the attrition has taken a toll.

Devin White is the greatest LB in LSU history and one of the best leaders to ever wear P&G. Greedy Williams was an all American lock down corner. Those are 2 enormous losses. That coupled with injuries, transfers, suspensions that we’ve had to deal with yields an inconsistent product on Defense this year.
