Absolutely get information from the person sitting in the seat. If the theif was stupid enough to use ebay or something, they are very traceable. Even if the person sold them directly, getting a physical description would help. If they were stolen from his desk at work, that may greatly narrow it down and you could then get them to look at photos or something.

Now if I stole tickets(which I wouldn't), I would get someone else to sell them, or sell them to a scalper.

File a police report. Do it before the game at campus security and tell them your stolen seat numbers. You never know. Though more than likely no one will be there or the people who are there will just be squatters who have legit seats elsewhere. (or maybe it will be someone who stole tickets from someone else)

And that somebody ought to be your husband for leaving them on his desk.

you gotta be a retard to leave tickets in a desk where other people can take them. congrats on marrying a total retard. you probably voted for "change" too.

Are you sure your husband did not lie to you and sold them because he did not want to go. Then you made a big deal out of it so he told you they were stolen.

Again, not necessarily.

Please elaborate on a scenario where you steal something and it becomes legally yours.

If the tickets are stolen you still have no right to the seat. I bought some tickets and they were stolen I had to give up the seats but LSU moved me to other seats for the game.
