Agree. Wayne H. gave Saban everything to be coach of Dolphins. He loved LSU at the time but he just knew he was going to be great in the NFL. Hindsight I guess, just wish he would have not landed back at bama when he returned to college football.

Saban quickly realized that he didn't have the control over the Pro players like he had with the college players, with the ability to teach them and get them ready for the Pros. When NIL hit he knew what was about to happen with College, and cashed his chips in at the right time. shite, I bet he is making more money now with less stress. We've all heard about the Bama recruiting breakfasts and the only thing that was asked about. Money, Money, Money.

I recently went on a college tour of Alabama and I lament what they were able to do with their campus with all the money brought in by the football program under Saban. Had Saban stayed at LSU, LSU would have benefi

And it will benefit under Lane Kiffin if it all works out, we'll see.

Where can I watch this at?

Every Thursday night at 6:00 EST on standard ESPN, there are 6 episodes in all and each is 1 hr in length.

Saban will be honored again in TS at a game, Probably with the 2003 team an Anniversary

Perhaps, but I will not cheer. I'm thankful for him bringing LSU a Championship, that's it. He's firmly implanted himself as an "Alabama guy/coach." We're nothing more to him than Michigan State, Kent State. His legacy and allure is with Alabama, not LSU.

I would be shocked if that happened unless he gets wheeled out there at 98 years old

It was just bad timing that Rich Rodriguez backed out of the Bama job after accepting it because his wife didn’t like Tuscaloosa

I bet Saban left the office coughing his arse off from Skip's cigar smoke as well.

And Skip RIP but he really dropped the ball on trying to keep Saban from going to Miami. It all hurts again.

I agree, same with me.
From what I understand it wasnt about the paycheck, it was about player development. He wanted more money spent on training, educational and player facilities. He said more than once, he was more interested in teaching a young player to be the best he can be, either as a student, as a player and to be the best man he can be. He wasnt interested in coaching a bunch of overpaid big headed pro players.
Alabama was willing to do what it took to force him to leave Miami. I wish LSU would have done the same

what seems to always get glossed over in these threads is Saban had a few disastrous business deals at LSU and he needed money to rebuild his personal finances.

What Skip knew at the time was LSU was not in a position to fight with Miami because Skip knew Saban was already gone.

Saban had a desire to try the NFL and he also a need to repair his personal finances.

Losing a bidding war with Miami would have made it that much harder and more expensive to hire Saban's replacement.
