Alright, fine you want to punish (not suspend) him by demoting him and making him sit out the first series.

So you want to punish JJ for missing curfew.

Because anything that JJ did or didn't do after that has yet to be factually proven.

Some witnesses say JJ was a "bystander and peacemaker more than anything".

If it turns out to be true that JJ didn't throw any punches and was actually trying to be a peacemaker, you still think Lee should get the start and JJ should be demoted?

(What's the next five star recruit going to think when Miles sit's on his parents' couch and tells the kid that he'll support him through thick and thin?)

The parents would say I appreciate how you make your players accountable for their actions. I like how you defend your players, and provide representation for them in times when they make foolish decisions. I like how you always hold the Universities and the teams best interest first. I know that LSU is a great learning institution and his education will mean a great deal more to him years after his college football career has ended.

For what it's worth, Bobby Hebert said T-Bob was no where near the bar.

Now we're down to one play?

How about you just settle for make then all run sprints, bear crawls, etc. till they puke?

Oh wait, that's pretty much the punishment Miles gave them for breaking curfew and hitting the bars.

For one play, yes. He is a senior leader on the team and should not have been involved in a bar fight in any capacity, should not have been in a place to have to lawyer up and go to the police stations, and his coach should never have to apologize for his actions, no matter the circumstances.

Again, ONE play? Surely you jest!

Just be happy with the punishment Miles already doled out and wait for the facts to be determined so that Miles can figure out what further actions are appropriate.

Yes that represents punishment for making a series of bad decisions. But not fitting enough for being a leader of LSU's football team. The point here is if you are a leader and a prominent figure of our university, then you have standards to uphold as a leader. If you provide poor leadership, then you are demoted as leader. The time of demotion should be up to Miles as it's his position to figure in the punishment. I personally don't think it's inappropriate for his to sit a series and scowl at the gatoraid like he did last year when Lee was bailing us out of a couple of SEC games.

rutiger has never played football before. Losing your starting title sucks and is demeaning. Non-athletes wouldn't understand the shame involved with losing that title.

I don't think he said that. I think he said he was at the bar but no where near the fight.

JJ generally can't hit a moving receiver for s**t and often can't hit one who's standing still. Lee hits receivers often quite well but they're usually not wearing the same uniform. We've watched them suck for three years now. I'd just get Mett some practice and start him. Couldn't be much worse, the team has been mostly winning for at least three years without a real QB.

Accusations, not actions.

You're full of crap, BTW.

How is he not holding the University interests first?

Because he's not suspending players on allegations alone?

Nah. The opening kickoff is a play. That's the play JJ and Landry will be held out. They need to understand their actions have consequences.

no, rutiger knows that sitting ot one play is meaningless and would be scoffed at by the nation, if true. You are digging a hole, and you need to quit
