Just don't like the way Miles leveraged Arky
I like miles and am happy he is at LSU. But the way he handled this does not sit well. He leveraged the Arky offer just like he did Michigan a couple of years go. I'd rather he earn these offers via the contract he agrees to. Just my 2c. Flame away as usual.
When one has many suitors, their market value goes up. If LSU wanted to keep Miles they had to pony up.
That's what America is all about.
So don't feel bad, you're just looking at it from the wrong angle.

It's because you think LSU football is sacred, and Miles thinks it's ordinary. Because a marriage is sacred, I would scorn a man who threatened to leave his wife for another woman as a negotiating tactic. But a guy trying to get a raise? That's fair play, man. Miles would be an idiot if he didn't push for maximum compensation.

Patterson at TCU make nearly as much as Miles. Who has done more? Who has brought in more $$ to the program?
If Miles did actually use this to get more dollars, it should have NEVER come down to this.

If another company offered you a 25% raise. Would you take it and run or give your current employer a chance to match?

Amen! Since when is it a sin in this country to succeed? Oh yeah, when it's the other guy that succeeds.

I love America, what you are worth is what someone will pay you. Miles has undoubtedly earned evry red cent.
If we don't pay Miles, commies win.

I probably am and I get that it's a business. I guess the problem is that as a fan, it isn't a business for me. I would have preferred if Miles won a championship at which point it would make sense to make him the best paid. I think rewarding success is what America is more about rather than the corporate game of chicken that gets played out. In any case, I'm not a Miles hater and nor a negatiger. I do wish he proves worthy of every penny he is now getting.

it's going to be near impossible for LSU to find a coach as good as Les Miles

At another school with fertile recruiting grounds like Louisiana. You can't argue that the man can recruit.

You want DiNardo back?
You just proved that getting great recruits is one thing, winning with them is another and Miles wins.

He was never going to go to Arkansas

It's interesting.
most old timers like myself, first game as a child was 72, have waited forever to have a coach that wanted to be here
and now that the most successful BCS program since he took over (85 wins since 05 is #1 re ESPNews) has that coach we've wanted that wanted us.......
a group of "fans" want to pick his every move or non move apart
it's a business in far too many ways but watching LSU choose to operate outside that "business" from 1980 to 2000......I'd rather it be the way it is now
eta: we should be thrilled. LSU football is splashed all over ESPN with a coach telling the nation he wants to stay here as long as he can and people complain....makes no sense

He is 500 against big game Bob while at oki lite. Was it coaching or recruiting?
