Proud as hell of that dude.

He fought through some major adversity to become the best damn ball player on this squad.

I’m going to miss him

MLB has him listed as a second baseman. That’s strange

Drafted above Mangum. Mangum just likes to hit singles like Raph Rhymes.

Watson should go round 3

Damn, didn’t think he would go that high.

Only hope now is if he’s set on being a first rounder or he hates the Yankees.

I really don’t think that’s a lot of money when all said and done. I garranty Josh can probably land a six figure salary as soon as he graduates LSU. But I really don’t know.

Damn, if it stays true to slot value, that's the highest spot not in 7 figures. Listed at $976,700. Still not a bad chunk of change.

Can anyone say how much he would get of that after tax and agent fees? And what would be his potential first year salary? I don’t understand baseball slot value after the Enlow deal a couple years ago.

That’s not how the MLB draft works. Only way Josh comes back is if they find a lingering issue and/or fail to sign their first rounder.

It ain’t happening. Smiths gone.

Probably clear about $550,000 after taxes and agent fees when all is said and done. The exact number will depend on actual signing bonus and where all it gets taxed, which we don’t know yet.

Josh Smith

So we lost Smith, Hinds, Espino and Jimmy Lewis so far? Could be worse.

The MLB draft always brings out the “six figures at 18-22 years old really isn’t that much money” crowd because taxes and such like that isn’t life changing money for these guys.

500k after taxes at 22 is an amazing start, the people who say it doesn’t mean much are idiots. Good for Josh
