It isn't anchored because of your OP, it's anchored because other users called Pate an idiot and pandering, etc throughout the thread. Pate visits message boards by his own admission so admins probably anchor any threads that have any negativity towards him the same way they do with Matt Moscona, Kendall Rogers, etc. I heavily disagree with the practice but nonetheless there's your answer.
