Am I the only one who thought he would have been a little more of an offensive scorer? I know we are only 3 games into the season but I just expected a little more. Maybe they are not asking him to be the scoring threat that we thought he would be for someone coming in averaging over 30 a game in JUCO.

I do like how he handles the ball and penetrates the lane.

I think he is getting adjusted to this team. Like someone else said on here JUCO is like street ball.

No, I think everyone expected that.

Certainly it's too early to write him off. I can remember Carmouche struggled early on after his transfer year and came on late offensively. But we need to get much more from him than we have to this point.

He did play a year at Texas Tech. But I do think it's fair to give him more than 3 games to adequately judge him.

I think he's trying to run the offense and get others involved. He needs to be a little more selfish and get more shots. He's 4th on the team in attempts.

We don't really run set plays. We do play street ball.

Our offense is like street ball. Someone either tried to beat their buy off the dribble or we jack up a contested three. I thought Musselman would bring some structure and fundamentals to this team, but so far we look like the standard poorly coached JJ team.

A point guard's job is to set the other players up. Gray has been working his butt off trying to do that. This is what CJJ has asked him to do, to make Martin and Mickey happy. Do I think he should shoot more? Yes!

He was in double figures in the first 2 games. He can score, but I think the coaching staff wants him to set up other players first. Remember, LSU has two of the best Forwards in the league. They are options 1 and 2. He's got to become better at running the offense and cut down on TOs, but I think there are going to be more than a few nights this season where he carries the team. I'm not worried about his scoring at this point.

One thing that needs to change is he's setting up Martin for perimeter jumpers waaaaay too much. Need to change that part of the equation.

We gotta do better at hitting the 3 ball to open up the inside. And we need to hit our free throws.

For that to happen Martin needs to screen for Gray and then cut to the basket or just cut to the basket period. Martin just sits out there and waits for the ball to come to him.

Exactly, need to start doing that. At least he only jacked one perimeter jumper (and missed it) yesterday, that's progress.
