The frame of reference is irrelevant, hell, it is basically pointless to try to compare season-to-season stats for players anyway.
You crawfish faster than . . . a crawfish.
How is that crawfishing? I said it was dishonest to compare the stats from the last 4 games of last season to the 1st 4 games of this season. I stand by that and I stand by the fact that your frame of reference is irrelevant.

frick you.
I don't understand why you are resorting to using foul language on an internet message board. If you don't agree, fine, say so, but at least act like a man about it.

If you had a player averaging 4.6,5.1,5.4,7.1, and 7.3 yds a carry and then you had one averaging 3.7.....who do you want to carry the ball? Some people here make to much of the "other coaches have to game plan for his running ability". I'd be more worried about S. Ware running my guys over or Randle/Beckham getting behind my defense on a play action fake.

Ole Miss and Arkansas stunk on D.
Ole Miss did. Arky had a solid defense last year.

Jefferson was pitiful against Arkansas. If we had competent offensive playcalling and QB play in that game, we win by two touchdowns.
He played ok. The biggest issue that game was that Arky dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

In my opinion, SEC games are a better indicator of progress or regress because the QB is typically facing a talented defense. Further, consideration of league games alone eliminates outliers like ULM. Here are Jefferson's statistics over the last four SEC regular season games, which would obviously constitute the second half of the SEC schedule:
Jo. Jefferson 7-14-1 46 0 12 2
Jo. Jefferson 10-13-0 141 1 75 0
Jo. Jefferson 13-17-1 254 1 40 1
Jo. Jefferson 16-27-0 184 0 32 4
TOTAL: 46-71 625 2 INTs 2 TD's 7 Sacks
Here are his statistics for the first four SEC games:
Jo. Jefferson 8-20-1 96 0 24 1
Jo. Jefferson 10-16-0 97 0 21 1
Jo. Jefferson 3-10-2 30 0 17 0
Jo. Jefferson 7-12-1 100 0 29 1
TOTAL: 28-58 323 4 INTs O TD's 3 Sacks
So it appears that Jefferson did, in fact, improve during the second half of the 2010 SEC schedule. However, on an absolute scale, there is little doubt that he improved from being atrocious to being simply sub-par. Even during his "improved" second half SEC performance, he still only had 2 TDs and a one to one TD to INT ratio.

Jefferson was doing just fine against Arkansas in the first half (9/13 121 yards) driving us inside the five yard line twice leading to short TD runs by Ridley.
Then, in typical Gary fashion, we abandoned the intermediate passing game in the middle of the field and fell apart thereafter.

JJ had six (6) games last year where he did not throw for 100 yards and went for a really long stretch without a TD pass.

Just me, a question for you , why does jefferson need to get up to speed, god willing this the last year of him PERIOD

I used both QBs most recent performances because that is what best describes their current abilities.
Comparing anyone who played on the previous team is worthless. JJ or Lee. I can't see how anyone even thinks this is a good idea.
For all you Team JJ folks, and Lee fans...both will see time this year and you can compare. "Your favorites" can stand on their own two feet without having to prop them up.

There is a distinct group of JJ fans, and a distinct group of Lee fans. Both are fricking stupid and neither are "LSU fans."

56-87 for 624 yards with a 64% completion percentage, 6TD/1INT and only 3 sacks in 4 games
Of which at least 2 of the 3 were unavoidable by horrible missed blocks by Ware and Ford.
In his last 4 games excluding the bowl game, JJ was:
43/67 for 630 yards, 2 TDs, 1 Int and 102 yards rushing and 1 TD
Now realize that he had 3 total TDs in those 4 games, and played worse competition overall than Lee has played in the first 4 games this season.
Lee has played 3 Top 25 opponents, and JJ played 2 in those 4 games of which 1 (Arkansas) had a horrible defense.
JJ showed improvement last year, but was still mediocre. Based on the last 4 games of the regular season, He was on pace for and 6 TD/3 INT season passing.
Lee is on pace for a 18TD/3 INT regular season and has done it with a true Frehsman as his #2 WR. JJ had Toliver a senior and Randle last year.

36th overall, but 5th in the SEC (about middle of the road in the SEC).
