That kind of effort on defense could have helped Johnny Jones this season.

Damn LSU really missed Mickey. LSU blocked 3 shots all season.

I'm telling you Jarell and Jordan back this year and we prob win a national championship we were missing big men on that team and that is about it. Ben Simmons played defense like a guard, I'm not sure he had a block the whole season.

The PG position is what killed this years team.

It was really interior defense. LSU had no one to redirect shots. LSU had an absurdly low number of blocked shots and LSU gave up a countless number of dunks and lay ups. I've never seen a team give up more dunks.

He did have 6 blocks in one game FTR.

But I understand the point you are making.

How was LSU not better last year?

Oh wait, I know the answer to that.

Here's a nice story on Martin & Mickey, their close relationship and that game.

LINK

Watching the vid, I didn't even notice this at first glance:

quote:

And after Mickey entered the game with 1:51 left, he blocked three shots in the same possession, the final block coming against Martin.

And how about this on Mickey:

quote:

In 27 minutes this season, he has blocked nine shots.

Happy for Mickey. He was always a great shot blocker with that 7-3 wingspan of his. folks always look at height when it's wingspan that matters, you don't block shots an board with the top of your head.

3 Tigers that played together 3 years ago on NBA rosters. I can remember more than a few folks saying none of them were NBA players. Geaux former Tigers!!

I'll be the first to say i didn't think Mickey had a shot at the NBA at all, and was dumb for leaving.

That being said, he still hasn't really done anything, but he's looking like a promising player that could play for a while in this league.
Very happy to eat crow on this one.

He's on an NBA roster and he earned it by stellar play in the D-League by all accounts.

Go Mickey!!

Na. You still have Jones coaching them down instead of up.

Go look at it his defensive stats compared to Carmelo Anthony as a freshman at Syracuse. Ben Simmons is held-and-shoulders above Anthony.

Do a little research before you talk out of your arse.
