Umm you can take the glasses off and be a realist. Explain how losing Coleman, JOB, Mickey, and Stringer makes us a better team? I get we are adding Gray and Hornsby, but now we are relying on Odo, Malone, a FR Center no one knows what to expect, Epps who will be extremely raw, and Martin who would rather play the 3 and is a tweener. Our front court looks scary thin without Mickey.

Umm we don't know that Mickey is leaving. That's what I meant.

Yeah you completely missed his point.

Too many have declared this year, Big pool for so little of picks in the draft.

I didn't realize that wearing glasses made me and idealist, either.

Not many freshman get press conferences to say they are staying, nor should they.
I will be so pissed if he leaves, and will fully expect to be worse next season.

Meant "if*" not of...but that was pretty obvious if you used context clues. Which was me saying IF he leaves, meaning IF HE IS NOT ON THE TEAM. If does not mean he IS leaving.

Lots of people mad about a press conference in here

Am I the only one this disgusts to no end?
I know we have been force fricked to accept it, but all of these KIDS holding press conferences is just irritating.
Just have your head coach say if you are going to be here next year or not..
I seriously doubt Jordan Mickey is the one demanding a press conference. He certainly doesn't seem to have the "look at me" personality. This is LSU's decision. If LSU didn't want the press conference, they wouldn't have it.
As an aside, there would be no press conferences if the media/fans didn't want them. Don't blame the kids when it's the adults that really want these things. All you have to do is venture over to the recruiting board to see grown men panicing over whether or not a 17 year old kid 800 miles away will be holding a press conference to announce where he will go to college.
I'm thinking he is going to stay. He will be one of the better returning forwards in the SEC and will likely be a preseason All SEC slection. His father meeting with CJJ leads me to beleive they were discussing how he will be utlized next year. The NBA is a much more free-flowing game that CBB, and I doubt Mickey wants to be stuck on the block with his back to the basket like JOB was these last two years. He probably wanted assurances that wasn't going to be the case. If he wasn't staying, I doubt there would be any reason for his father to meet face-to-face with Jones.

Good one
It's a very good class, but I think he's a bottom first round pick. I could be wrong.

How is it good for the program?
Mickey leaving isn't good for the program. Promoting a kid that is leaving could be good for the program if done properly.
I"m already on record as saying that I don't think LSU would throw a press conference for a freshman who is deciding to leave. Having said that, I could make a pretty good case that if Mickey is telling Jones he has decided to go, it may be a very good move to advertise that and sell it as a positive.
The LSU football program does it. Calipari does it. Recruits want to know that they can get to the next level.

What in the actual frick are you talking about:

To me it looks like it hurts the program since one of our best players is about to leave.
Your context clues imply that Mickey leaving is a foregone conclusion.
And calm the frick down. Christ.

I could see it as Mickey saying he wants to come back and Jones and co. seeing it as an opportunity to get people talking about the program. Mickey returning is very important to our chances next year.
But for whatever reason, it incites serious anger among some people.

The best part is that people are making Mickey into the bad guy. Like he DEMANDED a presser or something. It's a pretty abundantly obvious PR move.
