I hate sports and the media nowadays. There's no reason Mickey should even be considering doing this

I'm usually all about a kid going pro early and making some $$$, but in this case, he will have to start off overseas. I hope he makes the right decision.

His coming back or leaving will determine if we have a chance at a tourney run next season or not. IMO

We will need a lot more help than that, but it surely will be a good start

Presser being held

Am I the only one this disgusts to no end?

I know we have been force fricked to accept it, but all of these KIDS holding press conferences is just irritating.

Just have your head coach say if you are going to be here next year or not..

If he decides to leave that would be the worst decisions hes ever made. I doubt he would even get drafted. People were talking about JOBIII being a second round pick.

I'd say coming play for JJ over top schools was.

umm not really i dont think. A press conference means nothing one way or another. People like to read into things too much.

I don't think LSU would hold a press conference for a freshman to announce that he is leaving for the NBA.

For a 3rd year junior who has been a leader of the program...sure. But, for a guy like Mickey, I'd think they would simply do a press release.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. This would be LSU deciding to hold a press conference as a way of promoting the program.

It's not really outrage. It's just every kid in every sport from high school senior on, thinks that we actually need a press conference for them to tell us their every intention.

LSU, as it is now, is not a top tier basketball program. So, IMO, a freshman from a second tier program doesn't need a presser to tell us he might or might not go to the NBA in the 2nd or 3rd round.

I understand they have huge life decisions to make, but we all do

Good one

How is it good for the program? To me it looks like it hurts the program since one of our best players is about to leave. Did Anthony Randolph leaving really help us? Different situation, but kids want to win. We got Simmons because of Patrick...if it weren't for him he wouldn't care that we had players get drafted in the 2nd round or sign as free agents.

Does Justin Hamilton being a fringe player in the league really give our program "exposure"? Just because he was the 2nd best player on an NIT team doesn't he should go to the league. This is baffling to me and very frustrating. If you can't see that Jordan Mickey's skills are extremely raw still, I don't know what to say. Nice little mid-range shot, good leaper and quick off the floor. But at times his post moves were down right terrible. Not to mention JOB took lots of heat off of him.

It's an opportunity for some free pub for our program in the middle of the offseason. We're trying to become a:

top tier basketball program

Any exposure and publicity is good. Well, not ANY exposure, but you catch my drift. Or maybe you don't, I don't know.

There is no third round.

People really need to un-wad their panties. I, for one, am interested in what he decides to do. We can rattle on about whether it would be a good decision to leave all we want.

Exactly what I was thinking. I can't even believe this is a question. Mickey needs at least 1 more year to develop

I don't think his eval could have said very positive things about $ if he left.

Some money is better than none...whether it be overseas or whatever. I'm just saying kids want to make money as soon as possible. But he needs to come back.
