pulling for JJ to look good on national TV is like pulling for Vandy, Fla. & S. Car. to win baseball Championship, it makes us look better. We hate those teams all the time until now. You can hate JJ all you want later but lets hope he looks good on TV.

Yeah, I think we all want him to look decent on national TV. Thomas and Barkley came off well.

Some of you really need some mental help. Seriously.

Would prefer it to be Spencer Ware. At least when Ware speaks, he doesn't sound like a high schooler.

I don't think you've ever heard the Ware wolf speak.

So you have one day to make all kinds of media rounds as the QB of a top 5 team in mid June. What is it that you would want to get out of all these media appearances? I would want him to promote the upcoming season and talk about the team looking forward. You would want him to use this limited window of exposure to apologize and "own up" for not playing well at times last year?

I'm not using this as some life lesson bullshite. I'm not his father or his coach or his teammate. I'm sure he's well aware he had some bad games. Further, he doesn't owe you or I jack shite. Tell me why he needs to "own up" on national tv for his mistakes and why today would be the best venue? Tell me how that would be in the team's best interest?

JJ has a a rare opportunity to get in front on a national audience. My hope is he projects a positive outlook for the season and exudes confidence. I see very little gained by degrading and revisiting his performance last year.

I would rather he not talk about last season at all. I didnt say that he needed to do anything on national TV either. Nowhere in my statement did I talk about his national carwash media day. I was simply saying exactly what I said. You said owning up to mistakes will make him look like a pussy, and I respectfully disagree.

Never said this was the venue but after all the recent statements about "ME" and "I" coming from him I think he owes it to his team to become a better leader on and OFF the field.

He has a lot of national apperances on the field, so I guess lets see how he does OFF the field.

I was responding to bmy's comments on p2 in saying I didn't want to come across like a pussy.

quote:

I hope he says "I" have to practice harder. "I" have to play better, "I" have to be a better leader, and "I" didn't come through a lot of the time last year when my team needed me to do so.

I don't see why any LSU fan would "want" him to revisit last year and essentially apologize for his performance in this rare opportunity.

I mean, bmy wants him to say he failed last year and when his team needed him? Really? That's what he wants him to say?

My overall beef is with people who feel the need to bash our QB in June and essentially wish him to fail and find fault with him for going on ESPN promoting the program. I just don't get it. Look, I sat through every minute of every game just like everyone else. I didn't like what I saw either, but it's time to get over it. JJ is the apparent starting QB on our team who is thought to be a serious title contender. I don't have a vote in who starts. I'm supporting our guy.

Why the hell would you essentially want our QB to go on national TV and appoligize for the past? I undstand what you're doing about this past quotes, but think about what you're saying. What is accomplished by going on TV and looking like a pussy? That's what you want?

Since when is taking responsibility a pussy thing to do? That's what QBs (and leaders) do. They take the heat off their team mates shoulders. You must be unaware of how Jefferson has spoken in previous interviews.. he has laid the blame at the feet of his team mates and coaches and not on himself. When a pass is dropped, JJ should think it was his fault for not throwing it perfectly.. not the WRs for dropping it. That's how you become a good QB and a good team mate. Blaming others is how you divide a team.

You don't tell your team and fans that you weren't put into good situations last year.. you tell them that you've been working damn hard on every facet of your game.. especially leadership.. because you hate letting your team down.

Id be more concerned about him sounding like a fool thab looking like one.

Talking cretinsly isn't one of this guys stong points, let's not even try into the context of what he says.

If I were jlee I would be saying wtf has that dude done to get on espn?

TheDoc used to be all on JJ's cock and now he acts like a jealous ex

Anybody remember that big arse LaTech pic he kept posting when a JJ vs JL debate was raised.

Its funny to me how your posting on this subject took a complete 180 last year.

I for one hope he does good and haves fun Thursday. Want him to get to work on that damn accuracy

I agree leadership is taking responsibility, but it would be beyond ridiculous for him to go on some apology tour now and in this situation, which is apparently what you want to see. My question is what would that accomplish?

I know exactly what he said last year, I didn't like it then, but it's over and that was last year. It's June 2011, not October 2010 in a post game interview. I don't want to see a damn Obama-like fricking apology tour--there is no good that would come from that. Leadership is also about timing and about moving on, leading, as in going forward. If any feathers were ruffled last year, I'm sure that has been addressed in private over the last 8 months.

His role on this day is to promote the program and the team in 2011, not dwell on the mistakes of 2010.

I think fans have a right to think it's absurd to push for jj as heisman. I think jj has a better chance running for president. Now that doesn't mean I don't want him to win, I do, I would give anything for jj to leave here as the greatest qb in Lsu history but he has done nothing to earn his name in the same sentence as heisman. Minus the am game how many td passes did he have last season? Make whatever excuse you want he cannot read a defense yet and has never looked of a safety, not one single time. We all want jj to be the savior but I think we are all realists on here. If your girl who is 59 lbs overweight wants to try out for miss America sometimes you have to bite the bullet and for god sakes keep it real!

If you were to pick an athlete of the Cotton Bowl to give the Heisman to, it wouldn't be JJ. It would be Ware. Not that JJ played terrible, he actually played pretty good that game.

Ah, your language skills have improved since your last post. Possibly JJ's will also, along with his QB skills.

When they ask him to grade his performance last season, I wonder what he'll say.
