Wasn't that pass intercepted? How could it be a perfect pass if the safety has the same chance of catching it as the intended receiver? If Dickson hadn't been held, we don't know that he would have caught up with the pass.

i watched the replay, ball was in the air when the hold occurred. not by much but was for sure

I'll say this. JJ keeps us in games as long as we can run the ball and our D isn't sucking it up.
Unless Jefferson learns how to throw an accurate pass longer than 8 yds, then JL will be needed this year. Mark it down.
JL did put up pretty good points last year. If he got over his INTs, then BOOM! we've got an offense.
If he sucks again, then go back to JJ.
I'd give JJ a chance to throw it deep the next 2 games, if he still can't do it, either go to JL or Shep to start grooming him.

JL had the ability to get hot and go off at times. You're dead on, get rid of the INTs and he's a damn solid QB. Throwing the INTs out the window he STILL had a pretty good year...the INTs and inconsistency really brought that down but he did have the ability to go off from time to time.
ETA: Clearly you can't wave the INTs but still. You could see the potential was there.

He's not saying bench JJ genius, he's saying we need SOME sort of a passing threat.

Who gives a frick about stats?
If JJ can't develop a vertical passing game teams will stack the box and really cause us to struggle. Plus, it's a damn shame to be wasting the WR talent like we are without a vertical passing game. Right now, we're gimmicky on offense. ANd UF, UGA, bama, and Ole miss will shove those gimmicks up our arse.
IF JJ can't get better, it's time to go to JL who could really march the offense up and down the field. IF he lost the INTs this year, he's a REALLY good QB.

so you would give the INT king of the SEC, or a true freshman with arguably much less arm strength and accuracy, the go ahead.

IF AND ONLY IF Jefferson can't give this offense a passing threat downfield.
INT king was LAST YEAR. He demonstrated that he could march an offense up and down the field with ease at times. Much better than JJ so far. HOwever, b/c of the INTs that's why JJ gets first crack at it.
Shep is our future at QB. Might as well get him reps.

JL threw 16 picks last season and Id bet at least 10 of them were 15 plus yrds down the field... Hell JJ hasnt thorwn 10 balls 15plus down the field yet this year.
Look im not advocating a qb change.
Yeah Id like to see if JL has improved any and how our offense would do with him under center.
However if LM believes JJ is gonna give uus best chance to win. Then by all means, keep clawing JJ.
But spare me this JL had his shot BS.. this isnt ring around the fuking rosey.
