About time

quote:

A standout on LSU's 1958 national championship team and at University High, Robinson played from 1960-71 for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a six-time All-Pro selection and is one of two players to lead the old American Football League and the NFL in interceptions in 1966 and 1970, respectively.

Robinson is still tied for 13th in pro football history with 57 interceptions. He is also just one of four six-time All-Pros who are eligible for the hall of fame not yet inducted, a list that also includes former LSU and Pittsburgh Steelers guard Alan Faneca.

LSU has a small area for NFL Hall of Famers on the Northeast entrance of Tiger Stadium. If I remember correctly it was only designed to fit the three existing members. If he's inducted obviously they add him but what do you think they'll do to make him fit on the existing wall LSU had built in 2012?

My goodness this has been a shame on the NFL HOF for many years. Hopefully it is righted this year.

Don't watch anymore RE: Taking knee. But it would be one last positive I could witness from the NFL in my lifetime.

He still has to be officially voted into the HOF when all the voters gather the week of the Super Bowl, but that vote is largely a formality.

A HOF Committee nominates one player each year that played at least 25 years ago. He’s already gone through that process. He’ll be inducted next summer.

I have been reviewing the list. Since 2004, they have nominated 2 senior members every year except 2015 and 2017. Of those years, only 4 nominees did NOT get in. The last time that a single nominee did NOT get in was 1997.
