And LSU fans you should remember these two words when it comes to John Chavis.....MATT MAUCK..

remember that game well, and remember laughing at UT for not adjusting. But as things are now, I'll take being prepared for the first team and not the second vs not even being prepared for the first team which is what we have now.

And UT has John Henderson, Albert Haynesworth, Kevin Burnett, Aubrayo Franklin, Demetrin Veal, Eddie Moore, Keyon Whiteside, Julian Battle, Andre Lott, Rashad Baker and Jabari Greer on defense?...."

was that supposed to be a big name defense outside of Haynesworth, Burnett and Greer or were you just showing off your excellent memory by naming all 11 starters...

That is it...Every starter on that team is STILL (with the exception of Battle and Lott) is still in the NFL..Baker and Greer WEREN"T even drafted but are still playing...Chavis has TONS of talent that he doesn't do squat with..

i got to give it to u. you were pretty much right.

Henderson, Haynesworth, Burnett, Franklin, Veal, Moore

although Battle, Lott, AND Whiteside are not in the NFL.

yeah that was a pretty talented Defense

Am I the only person who is worried about falling under the microscope of the N-C Double Assholes with Coach O recruiting?

For some of us who are "in the know"...there have been many direct comments from LSU staff members to the tune of "I don't know how he hasn't gotten pinched yet"...that scares me actually quite a bit.

Does anyone else have a feeling that when Fat Phil gets a new job in a year or so, Chavis will end up with him at whatever school he ends up at? He could be here a year or two and bolt..... thoughts???

I'd rather have him bolt in a year or two than have to be fired after a year or two.

Chavis is solid hire but nothing to get too excited about.

If he leaves in two years I'd be ok with that.

Thanks for your input, and I do have some concerns about Chavis. That said, he has produced some top-rated defenses, which is more capable than what we had on staff in '08. Even if he's not the savior some were hoping for, he's a step up.

To add to that, I think Miles is a CEO-type coach, and this hire, combined with the acquisition of Orgeron, shows me he knows we need immediate attention, and means business. I have to give some respect to Miles for that, even if the dream scenario doesn't play out in the long run.
