I guess it occurs to me that in all of this bull shite, one guy has gone virtually unmentioned.

Let's face it. We were 13-0 for ONE REASON. John Chavis' defense. Hell, let's face it, we didn't lose 45-0 on monday for ONE REASON. John Chavis' defense.

That man carried this team and he should probably not be forgotten in the hail of stink that was Monday night.

You can stay here forever as far as I'm concerned Chavis. 3rd and Chavis my arse. You understand how to keep a team out of the EZ and THAT is what counts!!!

ETA: I also think it bears mentioning that in the last 3-4 games, our LB play actually seemed to be taking a leap forward. If that shite keeps up, the defense is going to be more absurd next year.

Thanks for the great season Cheif! Your defense was fun to watch and your players responded with great ability, skill, and passion. Glad you're our DC. Best of luck next year.

Like I added in my OP. I want to also note that the last few games, our LB play seemed to leap forward. That was the weak link most of the season.

If the LB play keeps going up next year, the defense is going to be absurd.

Brockers said they prepared for the running game but not the passing game, the defense adjusted as best they could. This says a lot for Coach Chavis and his players for the ability to make the adjustments

So agreed.

We faced a literal who's who of O's (Kelly, Malzahn, McElwain, Holgorsen, Petrino, Mullen, Weiss) and were up to the task every time.

Consider this: Bama's O scored 27 pts in 8 qtrs + OT against us.

My one issue with the OP is that our ST's, Wing, were huge all year as well.

You are 100% one the Young LB really steped up i am looking forward to the jone/minter/barrow lineup next year. Minter should be a beast and a continue the good mlb we have had in past.
