I'm willing to bet 95% of the are about Burrow.

I mean, dude is an OSU fan rooting for LSU now since Burrow came here, right?

I don't see the problem.

Joe Brady may already have it worked out, but the Spring game had some gawd-awful WR & TE drops.

Does Mike Leach still shoot tennis balls at his WR's to teach them how to catch?

I'll add to this thread that Odell and Jarvis were notorious for putting in long hours of extra work on the Jugs machines

Jarvis was. Then he got Odell into it.

I've been saying this for years as well. Why aren't these guys spending endless hours putting in the work of catching the ball. They should be if they have bigger asperations.

Odell had pretty average hands when he arrived at LSU, by the time he left he had great hands. Seems our receivers right now aren't even concerned with developing great hands.

Right.

LSU, of all places, should have ridiculous hands through the entire WR core. The formula for it has been staring them in the face.

“a WR who had to break into a locked equipment room to use a JUGS machine. The equipment manager didn't want the WRs to scuff up the footballs”

Well that’s just stupid! I think the WR coaches need to raise hell about that or go home.

If Burrow was half the leader you think he is, he'd be making sure the WRs were putting in the reps.

Spot on.

quote:

"You might go through a whole practice and get two to three passes," Wallace said. "And to me that's not enough to get better that day. But if you're catching 100 before practice and 100 after practice, you've caught 203 balls that day instead of catching three."

Who cares what machine they use as long as they use it.

Fisher makes an excellent Jugs-type machine. So does First Pitch and a dozen-plus other companies. All the professional quality throwing machines do as good a job as Jugs.

.
There are about 8 basic catch types a WR makes. The more reps a WR gets, the better his technique and execution gets - just common sense.

I doubt Brady can set up Jugs sessions right now (under NCAA rules). But pretty sure Strength and Conditioning coaches can.
