Sherrill has not been in SEC meetings
Alleva is opposed to Thanksgiving night game
Nothing has been decided yet
League cannot dictate what LSU does, LSU will decide
I don't buy the last one
He did make it sound like a cupcake will come in the saturday before if we are stuck playing on Thanksgiving

There are a lot of folks doing family things on Thanksgiving as well as out in the woods or in the duck blind hunting. My duck blind does not have cable or satellite, and I really do not want to piss away a perfectly good ticket. Put the game on Friday night.

I'd be fine with it being a Friday night game. But having it on Thursday eliminates either the LSU gameday experience or thanksgiving, and neither should happen.

If this is confirmed to be a day game I sure hope this board is not flooded with people complaining about the lack of night games...

You might as well never look at the rant again. It will probably be the same people as well.
ETA: I would love a thanksgiving night game. Thanksgiving is a pretty stupid holiday to begin with.

I'm pretty sure the league can not dictate when LSU, or any school, plays. It's more of a TV and exposure issue whether a school decides to play on a given day.

Good. I'd prefer Arkansas anyway; much more entertaining games and a better program. Keep it on FRIDAY.

I don't like Jackie Sherrill, not even a little, but given what he had at MSU he did as well as any coach could do. Seven winning seasons and six bowl appearances including a top 12 finish in 1999 at MSU isn't indicative of a terrible coach.
Granted, those last three years were brutal and he deserved his fate but prior to 2001 he did a commendable job at an SEC also ran school.

ACTUALLY I believe when it comes to moving the day of games the university has a say so there. They may be powerless about network's moving the times, but not so much here.
