I don’t know why you think polian was some guru

That first portal class was full of huge hits and basically no misses.

You can’t deny we had some huge misses at positions of need last year, primarily on defense. Anderson and Zy not ever being healthy and going down respectively certainly hurt, as well. But they are both playing big roles now and that balances the scales some.

I will also give you that Shand and Swinson are playing a lot better in this defense than they showed last year under House. They didn’t look like significant pickups most of last season.

I do think the portal guys we brought in this year are fine for what they are, but Daniels and Thomas were the only really strong pickups.

They have continued to rely on trying to pick up former starters that were injured and then passed up.

Reality is that they were passed up for a reason and the injury just gave them excuse.

He’s not very good.

Some of y'all are ridiculous. He's had back to back season-ending injuries, and this was his first serious game action since he came here from OSU. We give up 155 total passing yards, no TDs and a pick, and he's not very good based on this one game?

It’s dumb to say he’ll never be a good player. he objectively did not play well against SC. Both statements are reasonable.

We've had some damn good transfers too just under Kelly's tenure.

No doubt. Think back to 2022 and his pickup of both Mekhi Garner & J. Bernard-Converse; it was huge for our secondary. They were mainstays at CB, with a lot of size and experience, and allowed us to do many things IRT schemes & game plans.

Our talent evaluation when it comes to transfers has been pretty bad.

Yeah I’m still waiting for us to get that Heisman Caliber transfer…
